Sunshine

All among my favorite films. Brick is my "learn some things about me" movie.

Jeff Nichols hasn't really missed. Midnight Special has some third act clunk but it's still great overall.

Not sure if it qualifies as overlooked but True Romance is an underrated movie. One of my all time favorites.

Here's a hot take for an underrated movie, How High is a better stoner movie than Half Baked.

That seems like quite a commitment.

I assume some of you have watched. Worth it?

First two or three seasons were a lot of fun. Eventually it just becomes very samey. But I watched a lot of it. Great soundtrack. If you made a drinking game out of the number of times you hear someone yell "God damn" you will die.

I haven’t watched it in years but this mirrors my thoughts all the way down to the god damn game.

You’ll definitely start to feel like you’ve seen the same episode a few times but it’s not bad.

Flew home from Australia yesterday and got a chance to watch some movies I just hadn’t gotten around to before.

Karate Kid (my first time watching!) - pretty fun but the movie feels older than it is compared to some of the other movies from that era that I’ve watched

The Big Short - this movie is right up my alley and it was great. I didn’t realize how many “oh it’s that guy!” actors were in this (on top of the obvious big name actors).

Catch Me If You Can - also very up my alley and entertaining though Tom Hanks’ accent was a bit distracting.

The flight also allowed me to watch Season 4 of Billions.

Love those, except Karate Kid lol.

I guess I like Karate Kid too from a nostalagia point of view, but Ralph Macchio is hilariously awful.

Watched the first 4 last night. I enjoyed it. Just like the first one it moves fairly fast, especially since they had to establish who everyone is. Took me awhile to get them all straight, all Vikings look the same to me. 8-) The original had 10 episode seasons, I'm not digging having only 8 in this one. Season 2 has already been filmed, maybe we'll see that later this year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Suits is a really fun show, it drops a bit when Meghan Markle becomes an actual princess, but there are still good moments in the end. The cast has some great chemistry though that really carries things.

Yeah, it's been good so far. It's been weird not knowing any of the characters, what their motives are, etc. I'm glad there's a season 2 already, I got pissed watching Cowboy Bebop only for the show to be canceled right away.

I totally forgot how many movies and shows one can watch on long international flights. As a father of 4 I barely watch anything within months of its release. But when I travel for work, I have knocked out 4-5 movies and entire seasons of tv shows. Then I come home and my wife asks if I just watched movies the whole trip. 18 hour flights to the Philippines or Africa are no joke. Unless you are watching comedies.

Started watching the second season of The Witcher the other night and I can't say enough about how much easier the show is to follow without the timeline jumps.

I missed the underrated/under appreciated movies post, but I’m going with Out of Sight. An absolutely fantastic film seemed to just slip through the cracks.

Comedy wise, I’d go with Everybody Wants Some. I just love the vibes of that movie so damn much. Perfect cast, perfect wardrobe, Linklater absolutely crushed it.

Speaking of Wyatt Russell, Overlord was a kickass movie that absolutely deserves more attention than it has received. The opening 10 minutes are insane.

Everybody Wants Some went up to my Mt. Rushmore after one watch. I think I've seen it a dozen times by now. It so amazingly perfectly captures a college baseball house. I really love that when they have their practice you can tell that those actors actually played some ball.
