Bam could end up a top 3 Heat alltime, but he has some serious work to do. I think a lot of Heat fans, and NBA fans and general, overlook just how elite Zo and Timmy were for us back in their day. Zo made 2x All-NBA teams at center and it would've been more had he not been playing during the era of prime Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson and Ewing. He was also a 2x DPOY and received MVP votes in 4 of 5 seasons (1998's injury plagued season being the exception)
1996: 14th MVP voting, All-Star
1997: 12th MVP voting, All-Star
1999: 2nd MVP voting, All-NBA 1st Team, DPOY
2000: 3rd MVP voting, All-NBA 2nd Team, All-Star, DPOY
*Lockout shortened 1999 season didn't have an All-Star game
Zo and LeBron are the only 2 players in Heat history to finish top 3 in MVP voting for 2x seasons. Think of how significant that is; being considered a top 3 player in the entire league for multiple seasons... Bam has a loooooonnnng way to go before he's recognized as even a top 10 player in the league
Let's not forget Timmy Hardaway:
1997: 4th MVP voting, All-NBA 1st Team, All-Star
1998: 6th MVP voting, All-NBA 2nd Team, All-Star
1999: All-NBA 2nd Team
Hardaway joins LeBron, Zo and Wade as only Heat players to finish top 6 in MVP voting 2x seasons
So yeah. Bam has great potential but I'ma wait until he gets a single MVP vote before I even begin to start imagining him in the company with these guys
