Chet Holmgrem 3-7 from the field for 6 points in a loss to St. Mary's. Not a good game.

Sorry if it was posted before, have not checked the previous 4/5 pages of this thread.
Dean knows his ****. He pretty much nailed last years draft.
He mostly nails it basically every year, way better projections against the grain than main stream analysts. Of course he misses as does everyone, but he has called out numerous overrated prospects (Wiggins, Cade) and stanned for mega studs (Mobley, Luka, Embiid).
lol
he had Cade 6th and Suggs 2nd and Minga 15th.
NAILED IT.

Chuck Everett wrote:So this kid Graham Ike at Wyoming. 6'9 250. He's like a SF/PF. No one is really talking about him but he is having a Kawhi-like leap in his sophomore season. I am not sure if he comes out, but he is from a family of professional athletes (football players), has huge hands and is dominating the Mountain West. In fact, they have at least 3 tourney teams this year (Wyoming, Colorado State and Boise) and possibly could get 4 (San Diego State).
Anyone else seen this kid? I read an article that talked him up earlier in the week and then just checked out him destroying Nevada. MWC produces some NBA talent from time to time (Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Larry Nance Jr. Neeimas Queta, Malachi Flynn, Christian Wood).
I've taken a glance at him.
Pros: Dominant scorer for his size. Reminds me of Trendon Watford in terms of the rare height/weight/shotcreation combination. Really strong on the glass.
Cons: Runs weird. Looks like a very uncoordinated, clunky athlete. No defensive impact, whatsoever. A black hole on offense that plays one-on-one a lot and doesn't move the ball. Non shooter.
I feel like he's missing ALL the role player traits to stick at the next level with the exception of his rebounding. And nobody is likely to put the ball in the hands of an inside the arc iso player from Wyoming and build their offense around him so those lack of traits makes him a bit unappealing.

Chet is not an "alpha" scorer that takes the bulls by the horns any carries his team offensively. Neither is Mobley btw, for reference.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Even with Paolo having one of his better games in awhile, I think with each passing game it becomes clearer and clearer. The two players with the biggest impact for this Duke team are AJ and Mark Williams. AJ's shooting is now starting to have a significant gravity effect on the offense. While Mark is just a damn good player. The effect he has on defense and Duke is finally starting to use him more on the offensive end. He has a nice hook shot and the form on his FT is really solid (78% in conference play).
Ive been someone who hasnt had someone locked in as the #1 guy, been bouncing around between a few guys. But got a pretty nice chuckle out of the commentator for the Duke game today. Said other guys like Chet and Jabari might have the better potential, but he would take Paolo #1 in the draft because Paolo will be the most physically ready one.
Haha what kind of idiotic argument is that? Paolo is stronger than Jabari therefor he should be #1? There are multiple issues wrong with that argument.
1. You dont draft a player #1 on who will be the best rookie player. You draft the guy who you think will have the better career.
2. Jabari has a much better skillset to have an immediate impact compared to Paolo. Im trusting Jabari's jumper to translate quicker than most things with Paolo's game.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Didn't he mention that after an impressive Banchero pass and say something along the lines of the other guys can't make passes like that?
Regardless, weird take by random announcer guy.

Why are people comping him to KD then? Hell even Porzingis wouldn’t just stand by and take 7 shots while a bunch of G Leaguers on his team chuck away.

Who is comping Chet to KD? I've seen that for Smith (I disagree) but Chet I've mainly seen KP as a comp (although I favor Turner, but Chet HAS to fill out his frame).

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
no one has comp'd Bari to KD either, people who brought up KD brought him in the context of 6'10+ players that can shoot like that being available in the draft, but I haven't seen anyone even remotely say Bar's the next KD.

He did say it after a good play by Paolo, dont know if it was a made 3 or a pass. But either way the main point he was making is Paolo is the most physically ready guy out of the main guys being talked about to go #1 and because of that Paolo should be able to contribute sooner (which I think is a horrible point) and that is why he would take him #1.
But this is pretty much how every game goes for these guys. Watch a Gonzaga game and the announcer will state "This is why I have Chet #1", watch an Auburn game and the announcer will state "This is why I have Jabari #1".
But ya being the most physically ready guy for being the reason you would take him #1 is pretty laughable.

Top 6, hard to say where. It really depends on the teams drafting.

Likely top 5 but he has a ways to go to be considered a PG at the next level.

Somewhat of an obscure name compared to those usual being mentioned, but how you all feel about Moussa Diabate out of Michigan? I think he has solid potential with time and I've been trying to gauge what the second round could look like.

Ivey would need to develop a lot in outsized ways to become a point god. He has a reasonable path to a scoring point guard with decent passing skills like Westbrook with a bit of Ja Morant mixed-in. His passing talent is far below that of Ja's naturally and probably will never reach Chris Paul level.

I see no path to being a point god.
He'll be in pick 5 to 7 range I think.

don't see a path to being a true PG, possibly as a secondary playmaker/combo guy
