I agree - I think he’s a better fit with what James Harden and Embiid bring to the table. We need a guy that will catch and shoot quickly and is not afraid to pull the trigger. That’s not Tobi.

Kevin Love would be one guy who would fit well

Great shout. I really like Kevin Love. I wasn't opposed to getting him last summer when he was viewed as a cap dump.

Some of us were screaming Tobias for Love in September and October. That ship has certainly sailed.

Curious if you guys have any unique suggestions I haven't thought about.

Assume the lineup for all intents and purposes is:

Harden
Maxey
Thybulle
()
Embiid

Most of the best fits, PJ Tucker, Ibaka, Love, Otto Porter have little left in the tank.

I don’t know a lot of younger versions of these guys.

Ideal fit at the 4 might be Kyle Kuzma honestly. His defense, rebounding, and scoring upside has been surprisingly good this year. He shooting the 3 decently and isn’t shy about letting it fly either.

Agreed but there's no way that Washington would trade Kuzma for Tobias (unless Morey threw in major draft capital and/or Maxey/Thybulle) given how Kuzma is a superior player to Tobias at a fraction of the cost.

Yeah, I don’t think Kuzma is gettable unless he annoys Beal and they’re forced to make a move. Unfortunately, he wanted Dinwiddie gone instead of Kuzma or maybe we could have made the equivalent of the Porzingis trade lol.

Wonder if we can get Otto Porter for the full tMLE. He's had a resurgence this year in GSW but I'm sure he'll want to get paid.

Tobias likes to shoot from the arcs rather than the corners, but I feel like he can be an extremely overpaid stretch four. I think the shot just hasn’t been falling, but we are stuck with him, so he might just need time to adjust to his new role.

Yeah. That’s how I’d view him.

Extremely overpaid player but we’re stucked with him. We just let him be a star on his role, and that’s taking open shots only while stepping up on defense and rebounding.

No more PnRs or post ups unless the situation calls for it (i.e our scorers struggling or not playing or shotclock about to run out).

Play like PJ Tucker. Not saying he’ll be just as good but just trying to play like that and failing is much better than him trying to get his 18-20ppg while taking usage away from our big 3.

Tobi has been in the league for years

He’s not changing as you’re asking him to become a totally different player within weeks

He's the first ever 3&D stretch 4 that can't guard a soul or shoot 3's off the catch.

Wow just saw Tobias salary. Brutal. If we had picks we could try getting Eric Gordon and Wesley Mathew’s in the off season but it would take picks.

If Harris wants to remain relevant he'll have to change his approach. We are already seeing signs of change in his process despite his lack of production in these two games. Overall, Harris' offensive production in his career is like teflon, it doesn't change no matter what. I expect him to get back putting up 18-19 PPG on average TS% shortly as well as continue his bad defense and lack of rebounding. He is what he is and thankfully better than he's been in the Harden era so far.

Harris has already demonstrated that he’s capable of shooting at or near 40 percent from three-point range on a higher volume. He took over five threes per games during the 2017-18 campaign and knocked down 41.1 percent of them. Before being traded to the Sixers, he was at 43.4 percent from long distance with the 2018-19 Clippers.

We need 8 threes a game at a 35%+ clip going forward, otherwise he has no future here.

there are zero PF that attempt 8 threes per game this season

highest is Bogdanovic at 6.4/gm

Probably unattainable, but Trey Murphy on NO as a 6'9 bomber that can protect the rim would slide into that 4 spot seamlessly. But, it is NO, so maybe Springer or Reed could convince them to do a prospect swap.

Maybe a Love / Harris swap can go down. I'd do it 1 for 1, but maybe Morey can pluck an asset on top if they feel like Harris can add.... whatever he brings to their roster.

I meant 8 threes per 100 possessions, not per game.
