I definitely agree with that.

But, with only 20 games left I still think it's very important for this team to get chemistry especially against the good teams right now. I would rather Harden sit out versus the Knicks on Wednesday and play both games over the weekend....
See how two good defenses actually attack them and possibly figure out what this team truly needs going down the stretch. Furthermore there will be plenty of opportunities for them to sit later on in the season. They should also be resting them during practice.

This team clearly does have a chance of winning a championship this year, but there are some things that will need to be clearly ironed out. They should be selective with their rest this season, but they should find some. Even for Joel

It's more important to avoid injury. Harden's splits on the back end of B2B's are atrocious this year. We'd be foolish to play him in those games. Besides, there are plenty of good teams in the other games aside from the 5 I suggested.

But, I want to see them now dammit!

Sit him vs Cavs and play him vs. Heat. Want to see them against a tough defensive team so they can work on some things b4 the playoffs.

I'm fine w/sitting him in either one. Just as long as we do it. One look at his stats this year makes it obvious he should not play B2B's.

Doubt he's sitting either of those games. He doesn't really do DNP-Rests historically, definitely not in fairly important games against playoff teams. Those numbers are drawn down by some blowouts and that Kings game he blatantly didn't try in. Most people play worse on back to backs. If he's healthy he's playing.

I think he’ll ply both games but hopefully the starters can manage their minutes against a Cavs team that’s struggling a bit, especially if Garland doesn’t play.

He just had a month off, looks like he’s in shape, and we need to build chemistry against good teams before the playoffs.

I'd sit him on either the front or back end of BtB's depending on the opponents, and I still believe Embiid should get 2-3 nights off as well. The MVP would be nice, and I doubt that sitting a few games would have any impact on that, but I'm way more concerned that he and Harden are fresh for the playoffs.

It seems Harden has the eye of the Tiger and is pretty motivated to prove the league wrong. I dont doubt we can get the thin Harden back, maybe 85-90% of his prime Houston version, with that explosive first step. That would be crazy!

+1

I dont think he’s THAT athletic anymore. But his PG skills is very much improved IMO.

The harden effect since his arrival

The Sixers offense has spiked from 111 points per 100 possessions to a whopping 125 which is far and away the best in the NBA and an all time great pace.

The Sixers 66.9 percent true shooting is also by far the best in the NBA in that span as well. It’s a combination of threes and twos and free throws in high efficiency shots and makes. This is just a sample size of what is to come. I mentioned earlier the most positive aspect that harden will bring is his ability to create a great amount of easy shots for this team . His scoring output is like gravy. Outside of Paul and probably Jokic and probably Lebron is still in that category there isn’t a better floor general to create and run and efficient offense on the planet

Yup. One of the few players in the league that is legit in “making his teammate better”.

Maxey’s looking like a star
Thybulle looks like an elite cutter and leakout player
Gets embiid to the line at will when he is struggling
Doubles the volume of Tobi’s wide open 3s

..turned George Niang into Larry Bird

James harden is having the greatest start by anyone with a new team. Harden has scored 123 points 62 assists in his first 5 game as a Sixers player. He is the first player in nba history to do that. averaging 25 points 12 assists 8 boards.

Harden and Embiid have a 133 points per game when they play together . By far the best by any duo in the NBA.
