It's unbelievable that a professional basketball player can be that bad at FT's.

My wife doesn't get why everyone doesn't shoot 90%. She's like ... It's the same distance every time right? Do they just not practice?

I give him mad props for at least trying it.

Rick Barry underhanded free throw seems like a superior "nothing left to lose" gamble.

Just 2 more days and Kupchak has to make a decision on Plumlee's partial guarantee prior to the draft. I'm assuming he's been shopped and Kupchak has a general sense on potential salary matching scenarios. If there's nothing cooking, I believe Plumlee gets chopped.

stuff like this is re-negotiated all the time. I hope we add a small amount to his guarantee to extend the guarantee date to the opening days of free agency.

I don't understand. Does Kupchak need more time finding a match? I would think he's talked to all 30 GM's by now.

that's naive. a lot of stuff seems to just materialize on draft day, and he could be needed for salary matching in a S&T and don't forget Kupchak is the OnLy OnE wHo DoEsN't TaMpEr

Does a decision need to be made before the draft? I thought he had until 7/1?

June 21st is the deadline for the buyout written into his Pistons deal. It is 3 days before the draft. Very inconvenient.

Indeed. If Kupchak were to pick up the full 9 million under the assumption Hornets can use him as matching salary draft night, we run the risk of eating 4.26 million if we can't move him. That's why if Plumlee won't agree to postpone the buyout date, Kupchak should've been exploring deals for him leading up to June 21st. And LaMelo has said we're "one big away" while playing with Plumlee as the starter. So I can't envision a scenario where we're stuck with Plumlee at 9 million. That 4.26 million has value if matching him at 9 million lacks value. What would he get on the open market? I can't see taxpayer MLE (6 million). BAE is 4 million. I think that's his best case scenario so I would cut him.

I actually think he's decent value at $9M, so I'm curious what happens with him. I'm not really in the Plumlee sucks at basketball club, I could see him being a very decent backup C. The problem is he's just not a starter for us.

I thought his deal was the same size as Oubre, didn't realize it was a little cheaper.

I'd rather keep him than cut him if we're only freeing up $4M by cutting him.

My bet is he's guaranteed, shouldn't be hard to move $9M in expiring if we need to.

It is not unheard of for both parties to agree to push the date back. Wouldn't shock me if that happens.

Might be worth keeping him just in case we need that money to match salary in a deal into the season.

Today's the day - Plum will become fully guaranteed at $9.1M if he’s not waived today.

And not a peep has come out eh...sheesh this offseason is arguably the most important of this franchise's history and the events so far have not instilled much confidence

Whats more frustrating than anything is we have so much going on with this team and we as fans have basically been left in the dark. At least we have our summer league schedule! ....
