There is an outside chance that Nets might even miss playoffs..they are 4.5 games behind 6th place Celtics currently.

Ben Simmons brings a versatility defensively that the Nets have never had.

Seth Curry is the best shooter in the NBA after his brother.

Drummond is a fantastic backup big.

Nets are downright stacked and should be favorites to win it all if everyone is playing.

I just don’t know when Simmons actually wants to play. It’s gonna to be after march 10 since he wants to avoid having to play in Philadelphia.[/quote]

I don't buy this narrative of him not wanting to play against Philly.

I think he doesn't want to come back rusty against Philly.

I'll buy the narrative IF he decides to skip games against them in the Playoffs (if they face each other).

The power that players have. Wanted to goto the Nets, he got there. Wanted to be in Philly, again he was shipped there. I hope the Nets get Simmons playing at some point, or this trade is really gonna sting.

You could make a better cause that the Nets were bamboozled by Ben Simmons. Fully healthy but wants to miss another month. LOL

https://www.netsdaily.com/2022/3/2/22958067/windhorst-ben-simmons-may-not-be-ready-this-month-certainly-not-next-week

We could have had both KD and Harden healthy next week. Instead we traded for this headcase.

Now now, you're not allowed to inject sanity in hot take threads involving Ben Simmons & James Harden.

Here's more sanity...

Ben hasn't played all year and even if he starts playing today, is going to need 4-6 weeks to get back into game shape AND learn how to integrate with his new teammates. That's absolute best case because according to his agent Rich Paul:

"Ben is now considered week-to-week. He's frankly not close. I don't even know if he's going to be back in March."

If this is true, you may as well write him off for the season because post-season starts in April.

In the meantime, though the NYC vaccine requirements for indoor activities will soon be lifted, however, the city's workplace vaccine mandate that specifies that "Businesses may not allow any unvaccinated workers to come to their workplace" will remain in place. This means Kyrie will continue to miss home games in the foreseeable future.

There's about 5 weeks left to the play-in and 6 weeks left to the playoffs. While the Nets may "downright stacked," in all likelihood, they are downright screwed, because there's insufficient runway left in the season for Durant/Irving/Simmons trio to sufficiently get ready for the playoffs even if everyone was healthy and vaccinated.

Well 5 years ago Simmons could have improved his game, so Sixers fans had a valid point to defend him. He oozed with potential.
However, he chose not to improve the weak parts of his game. That doesn't make Sixer fans wrong. It makes them smart. They recognized potential and then are able to re-evaluate based on new information.

Let's wait until the playoffs get here to see if Philly and The Nets even get matched up.

Simmons obviously dodging the Sixers road game on the 10th.

He'll be fully healthy after the game.

ok we know Ben is a great defensive talent and has great vision on the floor - not just 76ers fans. you guys just hoped he developed but the rest of the fans were always iffy about it.

I would be elated if this were true.

Simmons won't play after the 10th. He wants to miss the whole month.

He hasn't even started practicing yet!

Have you ever heard of a fully healthy, happy player missing a month!

This is why the Sixers couldn't get **** for Simmons before. It was going to be Brodgon or Haliburton.

Then suddenly hes able to be the main piece for a Harden trade.

This is why I said from the start that the Nets got fleeced. Simmons cannot be trusted. Hes basically Kyrie Pt 2.

Could have easily held on to Harden for the season. And had Simmons in the off season. His value would be even worse after he sat out the whole year for Philly.

And they probably won't have for this entire season either.

Pretty clear at this point the dude is 100% checked out on this season. Probably happy he's somewhere with a team who will pay him not to play finally.

Very cute response. Keep in mind winning the trade or not winning the trade includes next season, and the outcome of this season which includes the playoffs. Harden's value goes down in the post season (He would score less in the playoffs in Houston on more minutes like Karl Malone), just like Ben Simmons so either squad looking good right now doesn't tell us everything. Seth Curry is also a 46.8% from 3 player in the playoffs where James 3P % dips from 36.2% to 33.2% (yikes). Embiid also blamed his 4th quarter crunch time shrinking on Ben, so we have 2 guys who have to prove they can get it done in the playoffs. Maybe they can, but they both will have to prove it for the first time.

My point is that amongst trades, this one is hazier than either Nets fans or 76ers fans would like to believe. Hell, both teams could eventually win a chip. Who tf wins then?

He's not trying to Bamboozle the Nets. He's playing this out because he's trying to Bamboozle the 76ers in Arbitration, in order to get the 19 million he hasn't received since he started faking Mental Health issues in order to keep getting paid.

I hope youre right man.

I don't think the Sixers want to deal with the headache and will probably pay most of what they owe him.
