Different types of toughness. Rodman was tough as nails. He took a real beating and was able to guard much bigger guys. The other two were more enforcer tough.

Agreed. And most of the time I honestly wouldn't know who can throw down, so I'm looking at who can dish out and take physicality in a basketball sense. I see someone like Steven Adams as pretty tough in a modern context.

Historically, Oak was pretty legit in terms of toughness.

Although, it's the NBA. Most of these guys are basically WWE stars.

KG is the GOAT fake tough guy. He defines that term as an NBA player. Great leader, fantastic player, but the fakest joke of a tough guy ever. But hey, the fans eat it up and it makes him a transcendent super star..

He intimidated Scottie Pippen for sure, but he was more crazy than tough.

The rib mention isn't meaningful at all. It was purely accidental and even Artest would say so. He was immediately freaked out about having done it when he learned about it after the fact.

How do we get to page 4 of a thread like this and no one's mentioned AC Green? Played about Novmber of 1986 to April 2001 consecutively without missing a game. I saw the game where that jackass JR Reid deliberately hit him with an elbow to the jaw. Green's response was to nonchalantly stuff his two missing teeth into his pocket and keep playing.

Everybody was scared of John Brisker. He had more basket ball fights. He knocked people out. He fought the police and put the police in the hospital. Teamates, opposing players, coaches and referees where scared of John Brisker. He also always had a gun which he threatonned to use on people and his threats were credible.

The nobody would hire him because he was a trouble maker. He went to Africa where he probably fought the wrong guy and ended up presumably dead. He did care about his wife and presumably he would have callled her if he was alive but he dissapeared in Uganda

John Brisker was a good player and an All-Star in the ABA. Then in the NBA he could not get along with his coach 11 Rings Bill Russell.
