The Emira wouldn't be in my possession until the late fall so that's out for me. Too bad. Looks like it's going to be a fun car.

I'm buying an F-Type for this summer then hopefully getting a 2023 Aston Martin Vantage next year. Cars are crazy expensive right now.

I mean a Honda Accord is like 40% more than it was 2 years ago. With the added wear and tear.

Buying a 70k+ car to use for 1 year sounds crazy.

With the car market the way it is, I'll basically be driving that thing for free this summer. But no doubt I'm crazy. And bored. Dangerous combo when you have a lil bit of money.

Also I found out the Vantage is actually a '24 not a '23 so maybe I'll keep the F-Type longer. Who knows?

That Lotus is a bad-looking car tho. Worth the wait IMO! Of course I know nothing else about it other than the looks.

Im in the market for a car. Would like a midsize but none of them are really 100 percent for me. Right now im leaning towards a 2022 Legacy.

I currently have a 2018 VW GTI but I want to upgrade a bit with something that has AWD.

Anybody drive the 2022 BMW X3?

I love these comments because I’ve always wanted a GTI but I own a Legacy. Like the legacy, especially for awd, but it drives like a tank.

My GTI is a fun little car to drive, definitely recommend. Just not so much fun on the handful of snowy days.

Drive, yes (2021). Have, no. I compared the X3, Q4 (not A4 - typo), and XC40 and ultimately settled on the XC40 for my personal tastes. I'd encourage you to make the same comparison if you're looking at the CUV/compact SUV luxury segment.

I also had just come from a hot hatch, so pretty similar situations. One thing I'll say is that the X3 handles the most like a car, especially in corners. If you'd be someone to really miss taking tight, fast corners, the X3 may be the best bet for you in the segment. Sadly - as I have dreamed of having a BMW since I was a kid - I didn't find it to overall be as good of a vehicle for the money as either the XC40 or the Q4.

ETA: I just went back to look at my notes from then - summer 2020. I test drove X1, X3, Q3, Q4, and XC40. X1 was a non-starter; far below what I wanted compared to Q3 and XC40. X3 had more of the tech and niceties I wanted available, but in a much larger frame than I hoped for and for more money of course. Q3/Q4 had a bit more parity between the models and was mostly differentiated on size to me. The BMWs drove the best; the Audi's were both the chunkiest/worst.

XC40 was the sweet spot on all of the things I wanted - not too chunky to drive, my ideal size, loaded with tech and convenience I love, and was also the quietest and most comfortable IMO.

I checked out the Mazda’s before I bought my GTI and I didn’t like the interior. I think I remember a huge touch screen sticking out of the dash which I didn’t love. Not sure if they’ve changed that.

I love the look of the XC40, almost went for that myself but it was just out of my price range. Ended up getting a new upper tier Mazda CX5. No complaints whatsoever outside of MPG I guess, in this market.

Do you use winter tires on your GTI?

Im gonna drive an Accord and Kia K5 AWD model if I can find someone with a car to test drive. The Subi is nice but **** is that thing nimble like my old 2001 taurus was. Will be my first new car so trying to make the right buy.

The interior is definitely a love it or hate it thing. My wife is in the hate it boat so we will likely never have one....though the the 3 hatchback with a manual is still pretty tempting to me.

I drive an EV for a commuter and like it. If you like saving money on gas, try one out.

Yeah, if you like your car enough right now, you could consider getting a winter set. Generally, a car with winter tires, regardless of whether it’s FWD or RWD, will be better in the snow and ice than an AWD with all-season tires.
