The Deuce McBride Disrespect Must Stop

For those of you knocking his G League stats, its not about being the savior. Its about this team going nowhere...what do you have to lose.

Unless you think a 31 year old SF is our best option at PG? Who by the way is having a career worst season partly because he is playing out of position.

I don't think there is a single person who wants Burks to play over McBride. Point is, people need to stop overrating McBride and other players off of G League stats.

Would love to see McBride play now at the expense of Burks, just so we can have something to really evaluate him on besides G league. Plus Burks is a known commodity - he isn't getting better and this season is toast. Play the youth.

Unfortunately, there is one person who does want Burks to play over McBride. His is the only vote that counts.

If you can ger 19k people to hold up Fire Thibs signs at the next home game...I bet the opinion of 19k would count

I remember 7-8 years ago we all said the same thing about Tony Wroten.

Sims, Cam, and others are getting minutes, so I think if Deuce could actually play he'd be getting minutes.

Not saying this team is optimizing our young talent, I believe the opposite. But I don't Deuce is actually good enough to be getting a lot of playing time.

I wish we were outright tanking with a rotation of 10 "young prospects', but that ain't gonna happen.

Grimes is getting burn because he's good enough. Deuce probably ain't.

Question is whether or not we should even care he's not good enough and just play young, bad players to get a better pick and see if they can improve. That's a legit concern.

But if sims, Cam, Obi, and Grimes can get some minutes, then Deuce probably could too if he were good enough.

And tell me why exactly you think Thibs is some divine arbiter of judgement, that his ability to judge whether or not a guy is good before giving them minutes is flawless

Because in order to believe what you just said, you must think Thibs' judgement is perfect. Otherwise, it's circular logic, he doesn't play because he's not good and the proof he isn't good is that he doesn't play

He could be good, he could be sh*t. We don't know. But what we do know is, neither Burks nor Quick should be playing PG for us, so even if he is sh*t, it won't really hurt us, and if he can play, it would help us to know going into the offseason.

Deuce is sitting because Thibs demands his PG to attack the rim north-south and would rather play Alec Burks. Deuce isn't sitting because he's a bad basketball player. He's sitting because he's a bad FIT for our rigid system Coach.

At the beginning of the season I would agree that EACH and EVERY player needs to EARN their minutes in which I don’t feel that Burks has because he’s been terrible from the start. But I also feel that he’s playing terrible because he’s playing out of position along with Quickly. So you have to either play McBride or find someone who can play at point that is a true ball distributor. People complain about OB, he needs a point guard and the same goes for Mitch. Sticking OB at the 3pt line and telling him just wait for the ball to come to you is just bad basketball

Real stat...in the 5 games Deuce has played more then 17 minutes he is an average of +16 in those games.

Before you say small sample size, its the only sample size the coach gives him.

Wrap your head around those #s in 5 games that he played more then 17 minutes he averages a plus 16. Playing for a team on a horrific losing streak.
