I think you're all discounting that Harden wanted to be in Philly from day 1. He was ok coming here for a half season run at a ring, but that was all.

From the Nets perspective, anytime you have Kyrie and Durant you're going to be in contention. I like Simmons, but my worry would be in late game situations, especially in the playoffs, it's going to be difficult for him to make a difference offensively, especially if there is a big man on the court.
During the course of the game he'll get plenty of opportunities to run the show which is where he'll shine. Problem is, in late game situations he's going to be sent to the line of he has the ball and also, you don't really want him to have the ball in those spots vs having it in KD or Kyrie's hands. And as an off ball player he brings even less value than Harden. Harden can at least catch and shoot even if he doesn't move or cut much.
We'll see how it goes. Could be really really good, or just ok.
Eh... As a cutter Simmons is pretty good, Philly just had nobody who could hit him with any sort of consistency...
Regardless off the ball Harden was horrendous for us. Never moved and wasn't much of a knock down shooter (post OKC he's always been reluctant to shoot off the catch).

Actually that isn't true. We had him roll to the rim when we had Butler but he hated it furthermore one of the main benefits of Simmons is his ballhandling turning him into a 30M+ rim roller and cutter is just a waste of resources.
Anyways it will be interesting to see how it all works for the BKN. I do know he was allowed to have the offense basically go through him and for him to run the offense in philly that won't happen in BKN Kyrie isn't going to stand in the corner shooting 3's and play off the ball so Simmons can get his touches and neither is Durant.

Neither Kyrie or Durant are selfish on the court. They get theirs but they aren't black holes on offense. They'll work with Ben just like they did with Harden.

Kyrie has played off-ball 90% of his nets career, had his best season of his career, encouraged harden to take the lead/ballhandling/PG role and in general is a much better SG then PG.
Ben running the point is ideal, not an issue.

Disagree. Sixers fan here. Ben is a terrible cutter. Never showed willingness to do so. When asked he just sulked. Whenever we put him in the dunker spot he’d just sit there and wait for a rebound. Ben off the ball was very very bad

Problem is ben isn’t a pg. he’s only a “pg” in transition which he is good at. But in the half court he is not and was never a pg. he’d dribble the ball up the court and as soon as he passes half court he’d pass it off and go stand in the dunker spot. It’s not an exaggeration when people say it was 4 on 5 on offense with him in the half court. His passing in half court is also very overrated. Because teams don’t respect his jumper and because he lacks aggression in going to rim there are absolutely no passing lanes and he isn’t good enough of a passer to create his own

I'm not saying this to be a hater, cuz I really do have no hard feelings against Philly, but I think Harden is gonna wear out his welcome with them in short order too...it's just who he is.
Can’t this be used to describe Kyrie as well? I remember Charles Barkley or someone said something along the lines of “Kyrie Irving seems like the most miserable millionaire in America” like two years ago.

Also, Woj says Nets ain't done, I smell a Joe Harris/Clax/Pics trade coming very soon for a J.Grant type of player. Nets will be formidable.
Did harden decline or did he actually stop trying? I watched the kings game and he look like he quit. He needs to lose weight for sure.
So yeah I see he's back to trying again on the court
This has to annoy durant

you can still have good games in the decline, look at kobe's last game in his career

Man this trade has been a disaster of epic proportions.
Every day it looks worse. I still can't believe Marks made a stupid decision.
Time to win was now. Not next year.

He was scared he was going to leave, but the sixers didn't have the cap space to sign him. Marks didn't think this through. He strengthened a team that had no chance at a ring in the same conference

Marks got taken to the woodshed by Morey.
They had no way of signing him. Would have had to use multiple firsts to dump Tobias.
We needed a big contract back. We were getting Simmons.
Now he took the Nets out of contention. With KD and Harden they could still win the East.
As of now, it looks like Simmons might be out for the year. And Kyrie's mandate won't be lifted.
Just shut down KD. He can't do it alone.

Harden was going to strip clubs n faking injuries. You can't keep that in the locker room. If James was actually being aprofessional n said he would like to go to the sixers but still give effort you can keep him n see how the off-season. But he was being a cancer in the locker like he did Houston you gotta get rid of him

We can't possibly we worse than we are right now.
Harden would have gotten it together for a playoff run with KD.

Those relationships inside the locker got super toxic though HB. Him and Kyrie literally got into it and had to be broken up. He had to go.
I understand why he did it though. I have no hard feeling against Harden at all. If committed great player.

Na bro KD and Harden legit had problems, they havent talked to each other in months. Seeing that KD didnt even want harden on his all star team makes it seem there is truth in that report. Was KD even on the sideline the weeks before Harden got traded?
Maybe Im being optimistic but I still believe all our guys will finally come back and we will still make a run at a championship.

Harden left because of Kyrie. But quitting on the Nets was unacceptable. Dude looks locked in so far with Philly.

Being a Harden & Nets fan(it's awkward I know), It's hard.
News about Harden going to strip club has always been media hit pieces. And Harden ain't fake no injuries. He was legit hurt. He looks much better now because he got a ton of rest last month and Philly hired a hammy specialist just for him. Meanwhile, our medical team here has been a complete joke.
Harden just checked out. I believe spacing/non shooters, Nash, KD injury and Kyrie vaccine status are all contributing factors to him wanting out. Had KD not gone down or Kyrie played full time, he would still be on this team.
Honestly, I am glad Harden left or he will be run into the ground by Nash. There is 0 doubt about it. It's refreshing to see Doc can actually manage minutes. My only concern now is KD will be run into the ground.

Re: WOJ: Harden, Millsap for Simmons, Curry, Drummons, Two #1's
We needed to both weaken Philly and balance our roster more. You can't make another team an outright contender, while leaving yourself potentially vulnerable to miss the playoffs. I don't mind Harden wanting out after the Kai and Nash sh** show and then KD taking their side. What I'm pissed off is about him dogging us during that losing streak and 1) weakening our leverage 2) tanking our record to the point where we could face a single elimination in a game in Toronto without Kai.
