Re: LeBron James 2021-22 Regular Season Thread - Part ?
The Lakers suck and don't deserve the attention they get, but I feel like the people who say stuff like "let's trade so and so and rebuild" are more concerned with escaping the present situation than "building for the future".
I dunno when this started, but "picks" has become as big of a meme as "If LeBron and AD stay healthy". How many teams have traded away their their stars for "picks" and had a better future? Ok. Now flip the question. How many teams have "traded away their entire future" for stars and come out with success?
This isn't necessarily to say one is better (even though we know which one tends to bring more success), but I really don't think people who are quick to push the "rebuild" button know what they're asking for outside of not being as frustrated as they are right this second.

What they're asking for is a repeat of the 2013-18 nightmare, except with no LeBron wanting to live in LA to bail them out. No thanks.

More or less. I legitimately think that they don't remember anything about those years though. Just 5 years ago the best thing you could say about the Lakers was that they were still LA's team no matter what the Clippers did. Today it's that they won the title 2 years ago. I dunno, I just can't see someone wishing to go back to those days with the promise of "picks" that will turn into Ingram and Ball type players if they're very very lucky. Seems extremely shortsighted to me.

That’s because they were Warriors fans those years.

Vogel should be arrested for his Melo at the 5 lineups.

DJ Augustin is unplayable in China G let alone the NBA. Melo at the 5, DJ lineup went a cool -17 in like 8 minutes (Lakers were up 27-15).

Listening to Mark Jackson's useless "analysis" just makes games like these even worse.

This season is dunzo but LeBron’s only like 9 games away from passing Karl Malone. Should easily surpass 37k before the end of the season.

Tbf, that lineup featured THT at the 4 and Westbrook at the 3. Abysmal lineup that ruined any momentum they had.

It’s a shame the Lakers screwed up this team so bad with LeBron still as good as he is.

I cannot believe the Lakers got to see THT in practice every day and thought he could become a big part of a title contending team when he can’t do anything off the ball and frankly not much with the ball either.
Then they had a guy who helps in just about everything and pairs well with everyone especially with James and they were too cheap to keep in him.
James with an effortless 26 point half. Lakers won’t win this game since an 18-5 run or something is coming up, but with enough shots put up and if he gets enough calls, he can challenge 50 though every time he has a big half, he comes out and doesn’t have any energy in the 3rd.

Efficient 26 at the half.. They're gonna say he was statpadding when he puts up 40+

The rules for when LeBron is allowed to score are hilarious. And then it just becomes “it didn’t feel impactful because they’re layups.”

If they lose you can pretty much guarantee that the entire discourse at the end of the game is gonna be about how LeBron is apparently just the worst defender in the league. That's what the hate bots always default to when he does his job

Side note: Very cool that the NBA looks into getting rid of transition fouls only after the best transition player in history is damn near 40 years old. He'd average over 30 for his career if they did it 15 years ago. They're only looking into doing it now to give Giannis another artificial push to take over as face of the league

THT is exceedingly useless.

LeBron’s flying around out there. This season has been a damn shame.
