WCJ’s awareness makes me love him for the future. The dude gets it.

39 - 17 = ????

Yuck.

I'm not sure what they see in Hampton other than he is young.

mortus operandi for most of this forum and most nba fans in general is young = unlimited potential. If there was rule that would allow 15 years old to be drafted, by those fans, every single kid who grew up over 5'5 would be next Lebron.

That's just reality. There is clear pattern of behavior toward young players.
First year it's green light to do whatever they want.
Second year it's bit more critical thinking but in general it's still free pass.
Year three also bit more critical but with more people leaning toward negative opinion.
By year four most people finally start to judge player on what he is, not what they hoped.

Pretty much read all Bamba topics last 4 years. From "Gobert with 3 point shot, future DPOY for sure" ,to "evil coach" , to every excuse possible in the books ( covid, Magic medical stuff, coaching...whatever ) to finally reaching reality in year four of mediocity, with poor court awarness, being simply player with low BBIQ and not being anything more than backup C at best.
Problem with all this comes from fact that Bamba was always same player. From year one to year four. Only thing that changed isn't his game, but fans acceptence of reality about him.

Destroying college basketball by allowing one and dones and by offering AAU-style G league as an option for HS stars is now having the same effect, IMO, on NBA play. I'm not remotely addressing free market and/or human rights here...I'm just saying it's bad for business. NBA FO's are taking wild swings on the majority of their picks and players are instantly knocked for being too old if they hit 21...It's all about blind upside projection and an unrealistic emphasis (prayer?) on some mythical player development. Guys are drafted with a vision of hopefully contributing 3 years and many millions down the road. College basketball has no continuity, no roster to follow and project, the coaches no longer have the power to be patient and tough on players when needed, and nobody coming out has a clear profile - so there are a ton of busts and missed picks throughout the whole first round...When you drafted Alonzo Mourning or Tim Duncan, you knew what you'd won...just a better time at both levels, IMO.

There was a time when (and this was towards the end of that era) guys like Vince Carter started their college career coming off the bench. That just doesn't happen anymore.

I've noticed in the late game situations our offense slows down. If we're up or down 3 points in the final minutes, that's no reason to hold the ball until we have 10 seconds on the shot clock before we run a play.

We need to learn to continue to attack.

It's so far sailed that it's really not even worth discussing anymore. We have to work with what we have at this point. He is not and will never be the jumpshooter NBA teams thought they were getting out of college. Or anything close to it, for that matter.

If Anthony is the answer, then I am lost as to what is the question.

I'm pretty certain they're going to go with collective/team scoring scheme next season as they have an array of willing passers/high IQ guys on this team. Also, I'm certain this is a situation where the "go-to-guy" aspect of the team will resolve itself too as the season moves along.

Cole Anthony is no where good enough on a young team with no clear number one guy to try to disrupt a more team oriented approach at the end of games if this team is trying to win next year. Can't see the FO or Coaching Staff to allow this.

We'll probably have Fultz off the bench on a minutes restriction the rest of the year, but I fully expect him to be the starting PG next season with Cole off the bench playing the role he is best suited for. This won't be another Vuc or Fournier thing where Cole will spend 8 years being used as something he's not capable or worthy of.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
