I swear this team would be better off missing the play-in altogether.

Anyhow, as a huge FANBOY of Lebron, I, too, get exasperated at times at some of his defensive rotations. Then, I remember, 19th year in league and is still tasked to do more for his team offensively than basically everyone else in the association. The guy is still a top 5 player at this age. Absolutely remarkable.
The only old man I could think of who was asked to bear that much responsibility for his team was Karl Malone. All the other great old men in basketball history, and I'm not diminishing their accomplishments had had their role significantly downgraded by their coaches.

Melo has actually played fairly decent this year. Outside of Lebron he's the one Laker you could say has beaten expectations. But he was a sleeve against the young legs.

Lol LeBron getting shaken by EG like that might be the moment where he's finally jumped the shark lol. Truly disappointing how much AD isn't that guy. When Kareem got old at least he had Magic, and when MJ got old at least he had Karl Malone
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

For the record I think history will not be kind to Westbrook.
He basically ruined the triple-double with his shameless stat-padding ways.
History will be deservedly kind to Russ. He played a major role on excellent teams for years. Unless you're a straight up ring counter that consider every player who retired w/o a ring a loser he established he could be a major contributor to title caliber clubs for years.
By any metrics he had a great peak, and solid longevity for his lineage of players (shorter, scoring guards). He also had a great motor for most of his career.
He'll be recognized as a legitimate HOFer who at worst got slightly overrated for the triple doubles.
I suspect he'll be similarly regarded to guards like Drexler or Payton.

Without both AD and Lebron this team is a -8/8,5 team(16W) and with both AD and Lebron they are a +2/2,5 SRS team(48W), on my calculations. With 2 players on and off, two scenario, they are either one of the worst 3 teams in the league or candidate for being in the top 10 NBA teams.
I don't remember this kind of variant over the last 20 years.

This was posted over in the General Section of the forum... just thought I'd save it here, y'know for when people try to make it sound like Lebron is playing All-NBA level defense.
Eric Gordon hits Lebron with a filthy In and out dribble and makes Bron do the Hokey Pokey.

No one in this thread has done that. Do you have to be such a try hard? It's so cringy
You said to me “I will give you scissor seven fine quality animation".
You left then but you put flat mediums which were not good before my scissor seven".
What do you take me for, that you treat somebody like me with such contempt?

LeBum's whole legacy was on the line in that play, and he failed... again. He's officially a career negative defender now.
Spoiler:
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

I don't think it's cringy for Lebron to do the hokey-pokey in public at his age, it just shows that he's a good sport.
He put his left leg in, he put his left leg out, he put his left leg back in and shook it all about!

Well, strawmen are easily torn down. NOBODY is saying he is playing at an All-NBA level. If one or two people are, they're wrong.

So, didn't see the game, but saw the box score. Looks like he had a horrible shooting game. It happens. However, the trolls and ankle biters have dusted off the "isn't clutch" or is "afraid of taking the clutch shot" canard, again. The most over analyzed player in the history of the NBA. Melo had a great look. Just didn't fall.

GOAT moment
Lebron does have an insane load with this team. It doesn't make sense with those experienced stars.

Yup, just look at realgm's, top 100. And I have tons of respect for this board's rankings.
2. Jordan: retired for 3 years
3. Kareem: 22/8/3.
4. Russell: retired 3 years
5. Duncan: 15/10/3.
6. Wilt: 1st season of retirement
7. Magic: retired
8. Shaq: 12/6
9. Hakeem: 10/6
10. Bird: retired 2 years
11. Garnett: 20 mpg defensive specialist
12. Kobe: maybe the worst player in the NBA and irrelevant for 3 years.
13. West: retired 2 years
14. Oscar: retired 2 years
15. Dirk: 18/6
16. Malone: 22/8/4
17. Robinson: 8/8, defensive specialist similar to KG
18. Erving: retired
19. Mikan: retired
20. Moses: 10mpg
9 of the 19 retired
2 were putrid: Kobe/Moses
2 were below average, I'll elaborate if people want: Hakeem/Shaq
2 were very effective, part-time specialists: Robinson/KG
That leaves us with 4 full-time players who played at a relatively high level: Kareem, Duncan, Malone & Dirk
Kareem/Duncan: they were playing at a very high level but both were in ideal environments. Kareem had a mid career Magic who was rapidly improving on his way to a top 10 career all time. The rest of the team was very deep. Duncan was playing on one of the deepest NBA champions in history. Both also played for teams that allowed them to focus less on major parts of the game. For Kareem it was rebounding. He was quite poor for most of the 80s. For Duncan it was shot creation. Most of his points came from the team's great passing schemes.
Anthony Davis was supposed to play the role Magic did for late stage Kareem and Kawhi/foreign legion did for Duncan. He has strangely declined.
Dirk: was a nice season but he was still doing a lot less than Lebron.
Karl MAlone: I actually think this is a good parallel. Both were expected to do way too much for a player this deep into their career.

I got a different result. Just looking at the games played they're 11-10, -1 MOV, -1.2 SRS.
I'll check to see if I made an error.
You are posting the statistics in which LeBron and AD share the court.
I believe Feyki is looking at full game results where both AD/LeBron played.
