Thursday 3/10 Game Thread

Big TNT doubleheader!

Harden faces his former team with Kyrie and Embiid coming off monster games.

Then, Jokic and the surging Nuggets host Steph and the Warriors.

I'm reminded of T.O's return to Philadelphia as a Cowboy in 2006. But T.O never cowered from former teams or fans. He embraced the boos if anything. And he actually played.

I would have rioted if the Philly game wasn't nationally televized. The Nets have been buttering them up recently, Durant publicly praising Embiid and Kyrie saying he has no hard feeling towards Harden, makes me think Durant and Kyrie have circled this game hard. This one could get chippy

No need. It's on TNT, I can watch it on the big screen without lag. Barkley better be there for halftime

This game is huge for the Nets, not so much in terms of the standing but more so for their psychological well being and what it could do for them going forward and finishing the season strong. It will be a "monkey" off their back type of game.

This will be just another home game for Phili, but obviously they would want to win if anything to prove the trade was in their favor.

I got this one for Phil, as their defense is the key (top 10): 123-117.

NBA has had many great players, like Lebron, probably the best player I have ever seen. But Jokic is the first player that I can't fathom how insane good he is, like it's unbelievable to me. I think it's because his teammates are so bad, and he is a teammate wit Campazzo, who was like international basketball MVP, but then you see them both on the court, holly crap Jokic is better than probably 20 Campazzos combined. Can't believe player could be this good, forget Luka, this man will be Euro goat for sure.

I saw a Sam Vecenie tweet today that said something like, "He makes plays that literally make my brain melt." It was in an article here on realgm, actually. And I was like, "I know the feeling."

It's messed up that that DEN is on the fourth in five, the fifth in seven, and facing GSW for the second second night of a back to back in just a few days, with the Warriors being on a back to back for neither of them. Whoever thought this schedule up last off-season apparently wasn't a fan of the MVP.

EDIT: They were also down Barton (ankle) and Hyland (illness) last night, so we'll see if anyone is actually available tonight!

He is kinda like personified argument when people say, what if Chris Paul or Steve Nash were 7 feet, but still had best footwork in the league. I get when small guys are that good and smart, but a lot of bigs start playing ball just because they are tall, not because they are natural talents. But Jokic has goat IQ, vision, insane shooting AND he's a center. Just not fair how good he is.

If PHI wins, they move up and BKN moves down, increasing the likelihood they'd face BKN in the 1st round, which they presumably don't want - not when they could play CHI or CLE in Round 1 instead.

So, PHI appears incentivized to lose. Whether they think that way, especially with so much time left in the season... we'll see tonight. But I think they won't be too upset as an organization if they lose this one.

If I recall some product of this weirdness was a re-scheduled game from earlier in the season.

Ah, maybe. Messed up, either way.

The Monday game was re-scheduled from December, when Denver couldn't field enough players. The Warriors had to go to Denver for that game on Monday, back home back to back for the Clippers on Tuesday, then fly back to Denver for the game today. 3 in 4 nights, so not much sympathy for the Nuggets.

Given the Warriors' current form I feel the only debate is whether Denver takes an early lead and coasts to the win or if GS takes an early lead and Denver dominates late to get the win.

Embiid is going to embarrass the nets lack of interior defense. It’s going to get ugly on the interior. The Nets will need a 50 piece from Durant to offset that
