Let's try this again, shall we? But better, especially from 3 and D. Man perimeter and help in the key D to be precise. Rebound. Move the ball. Drive. Make our 3s. Start strong, stay strong throughout. Finish strong.

Keep loosing guys!! Its ugly, but we are doing great! No one cares about that record including Pop. Lets go 1-15 the rest of the way beating Dallas in the season ender! Now that the Laker game has past we don't need any other wins! LETS GO!!

Top 4 pick incoming baby!!!!!!!!

Want to bet otherwise. It's huge for everyone involved. Pop knows the weight on the players because of it and it's why, I think, he's been using more of the carrot than stick approach publicly even if the former's been more appropriate given our stiff play.

Let's play for the positives!

I'm all for playing for positives. I want us to compete and try like we have been doing but you can play well and still lose. Pop will just keep doing what he's doing. Play Primo at key points and hope he does well, but if he fails its a learning experience. Throw in the end of the bench only down 15 with 7 minutes left like he has been doing. This is the front end of a back to back so lets sit Poeltl against Gobert...etc. I'm not rooting for us to lose really, just not overly concerned about if we win :D

I suppose if we must win I'll be happy if we make the play in and face the Lakers and knock them out. That would be the only positive in winning games

I didn't notice that you italicized the part about no one caring about the record. One of the things I love about the Spurs and draws me to them is they honestly do not care about individual records or popularity contests. They are usually all about the team. Gervin, Duncan, Robinson, Ginoibli,(not necessarily Parker LOL) Pop and countless other legends would rather talk about winning and not themselves. We are going to win a game eventually and that stupid record will be over so we can stop obsessing over it. I don't know Pop personally but I think that is exactly what he thinks. Notice he rarely answers questions about it.

Only media and fanbois think its necessary to push for it.

Well, it's just that he signed on for another three years (in this current contract) and with it we've reached a NBA-best tied consecutive playoff appearances, and he got his Olympics Gold (47 years in the waiting!) and now we've on the brink of this record. Yeah it's for Pop, but for the franchise, too.

Jakob said players don't dare talk about it in the locker room, and media types don't dare ask Pop about it (when they do he's characteristically understated about it). But make no mistake, the players past and present ALL want it for him. DJ and Lonnie have let it slip a bit in interviews, Jakob has hinted at it as well, and George Carl has said that the previous Spurs are all rooting for him as well. It's an amazing feat FOR him, if you know what I mean. And because Pop has such a great standing with most of them, they want it for him. I can't help but think he is aware of what it means even if he's deflecting it. He did so with the playoffs record and the Olympics before these were reached.

It's great for the organization as well.

Make no mistake. The fact that only the media is talking about it is just the way Pop and the Spurs want it - no outside extra pressures for as long as they can be held off. But being on the brink of a record that nobody else has done EVER? Even if Pop is understated about it, he's competitive as hell, and he knows what this means for the players involved and the team, and yeah, I think deep down in some little corner of professional pride, for himself as well.

And I want to see which brave souls dare to pour the Gatorade on Pop when it happens lol

Well the perimeter and interior D is pretty good but we've **** getting bombarded from the arc. And these are contested for the most part, too. *sigh*

1ST Q: SPURS 30

JAZZ 33

Well the 3s are falling, we're doing a good job getting to the FT line, but we're also getting blocked a whole lot (for all my drive at them posts, this may be the team we need to take their C out a bit or get weak side back door cuts and reverse makes) and not making our mid range Js. Just 36.4% so that has to be better.

We did well to catch them after their bigger lead. I like the better competitiveness and D engagement.

DJ with his end of Q 3s is something, isn't it? Pop giving him the business as a joke fun to see.
