If the Knicks bink the #1 pick in this year's draft who do they select? Thanks, I'll hang up and listen now.

Put him with an elite playmaker and give him 30 minutes, he’s a 12 and 10 guy from day one.

That's absurdly low. He's a young athletic big that can block shots who's one of the youngest players in the draft. Give me any another athletic 6'11 250lb 7'5 wingspan big in this draft... there isn't, and that's why Duren will go much earlier than 20.

Not every big man has to have Embiid skills. Jarrett Allen got a $100million contract for averaging 13.2pts 9.9rebs 1.4blks and 1.7asts.

Way to add to the discussion. Don't be mad at me because the Warriors drafted James Wiseman over LaMelo

But his type of big is no longer what NBA teams crave any more. And I have guys like Mark Williams, Walker Kessler, and even Oscar Tchiebwe just ahead of him. I could be wrong - it's hard to predict with these bigs.

Are folks enjoying the conference finals games? Just watched Creighton vs Villanova. The first half was rough, but the second half - man, that was fun. Not the most talented teams, but so well coached. Gillespie... yeah, he'll be 23 on draft day, and he might not get drafted, but no doubt he'll be a good 3rd PG / 5th G for some NBA team. Had all 17 of his points in the 2nd half - all clutch, handled the ball on a string, unselfishly deferred to his teammates except when they needed him to take over, great decision after great decision.

im not mad at anyone, it's just annoying having the same exact discussions every draft and being right about it.

you don't draft Duren's archetype in the lotto. period. that should be one of the rules of nature at this point.

Yet several NBA lottery teams will line up to do just that this summer.

It’s would be a total Kings move. Especially right after they traded for Sabonis.

If I was the Spurs and Duren is available with one of their picks, he's an easy choice. Seems like pro coaching could mold him into something special.

Dalen Terry's passes to cutters are some of the best I've seen in recent years. He looked like Haliburton yesterday (and over the course of the season, looked like a less talented version of Haliburton). I really, really like his glue-guy potential.

Who are the best defenders in the draft at the guard and Wing spot?

I think Duren's being unfairly mischaracterized as someone who's solely a rim runner/shot blocker. This kid is a year younger than basically everyone and his processing speed is incredible. He reads doubles and makes impressive passes from a wide variety of areas. DHO/Delay, Post up/off the dribble/short roll etc etc. Sees over the defense and uses his body/eyes to fake out defenders. He's got a decent mid-range as well. His intangibles and maturity have been outstanding in this tournament. Demonstrated huge leadership from someone so young and did a lot for them late in games. Again, he's got the body and frame of a big time NBA defender already and he's still only 18. Lot to like there outside of just how hard he rolls and screens.

Now is he in that top 6-10? Late lotto? Teens? I think so but I don't feel strongly enough to eyeroll or dismiss it entirely when someone says they want a big man. Bam was the 10th pick. So was Thon Maker.

Duren is an incredibly athlete with excellent hands. He should definitely be a lotto pick. I'm sorry, picking a guy like TyTy Washington or Banchero over him is dumb.

I agree. He has some things that set him apart from the generalization. He is very switchable even on some of the quickest ball handlers. He can punish any team thinking of going small. He has some semblance of a face up game already including a jumper. Plus he is good passer. I think he should be compared more to Bam. And if folks want to say Bam wasn't worth a lottery pick...well ok.

I think Tchiebwe is getting seriously overrated these days.

I can see him having a good career as a bench guy but someone like Duren has starter potential that I don't see Oscar having.

Terry is interesting. he can shoot, is a plus athlete and can play the lead guard at 6'7". I have to wonder why he doesn't do more. Perhaps it's just a product of the system, his role and his teammates - it would be interesting to see him in a g league setting where he has more opportunities to make plays.

Duren would make no sense for the kings haha

I like Keegan Murray for them - he would be a good fit alongside Sabonis..

Do people think this list is still accurate? Where would the g-league rank on this? Are all 12 of these leagues better competition than g-league or did Fran just leave it out because he was only ranking international pro leagues?
