Key is to keep this level of aggression with FVV and OG in the line up.

Big ball handling wings are still more valuable than bigs. Mobley’s defence is incredible but he doesn’t have much offensive creation ability and that’s really important in the playoffs

Cavs are a below average defensive team with Mobley and without Jarrett Allen.

Yah I haven't gotten around to seeing how Mobley plays without Allen.

You do realize the team goes out of their way to call isos for og right? It’s not always Scotties choice… at the beginning of the season when siakam was out, Barnes was a little more aggressive by virtue or one less pecking order guy… now ogs out so again more opportunities… once they’re all back, pecking order returns and Scottie is back to garbage man. Fortunately he finds a way to make a difference regardless but yeah it’s not always about aggression with Scottie there’s team dynamic involved…

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the team "goes out of their way" to call plays for OG. Plays are called for OG when he has a mismatch against his defender. This offence is based on taking advantage of mismatches. That's not "going out of their way", that's "on their way" because it's part of the system.

The pecking order is nonsense as we are seeing. Offense needs to run through Siakam and Barnes and the others are shooters.
But I'm sure everyone can't wait for a stumbling OG again.

you guys are bias.
We lost w/o fred. Listen to argue Scottie is a better prospect is fine but Mobley is a top 10 trade asset in this league. don't be silly here

I wouldn't either. I mean it could end up being like choosing between Hakeem Olajuwon or Magic Johnson.

Og sucks at isos… that being said, again this is not even the point I was trying to make…
But since we’re on the topic, while og was in the lineup, he was getting forcefed the ball on said mismatches that you think mean something and sucked against said mismatches while Scottie was left to clean up the scraps and get his off of offensive boards and other garbage buckets… and when I say goes out of their way, the implication is that they’re actively looking for og in those situations (again undeservedly) and clearing out when it happens… you’re seeing it more with Scottie now, but not when og is in the lineup.
Meaning, og has a higher priority on the pecking order… again, meaning SCOTTIES lack of aggression when other people are in the lineup are not a result of his choice but the teams choice… that’s it. Pretty simple and obvious statement. Now hopefully when og comes back, we shouldn’t wish that Scottie be more aggrsssive, but instead for the team to stop looking for og in said mismatches because he sucks in those situations anyway, and for Scottie to get more opportunity to post up in the same situations. Og can be relegated to spot up duty and cutting off the ball. As much as people like to act these mismatch post ups are happy accidents, there is still an active choice allow him to go to work, which again, could he nixed by the coaches if they saw fit, which they don’t yet.

They are treating OG as an elite iso/post scorer which he very clearly is not.

Mobley's getting bullied by everyone, he's a good weakside defender but one on one in the post he's BBQ chicken too weak to cover anyone stronger than him, he's getting exposed until he packs on weight. But with added weight will he able to keep his bounce and quickness, we'll see.

I just don't see why you make that trade.
Scottie seems to be able to do everything Mobley can, but with even more versatility and the ability to actually headman the offense too.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread 2
Mobley is just as special of a player as Barnes but can he play PG like Scottie? Those no look and full court passes we've seen from Scottie.. rebounding the ball coast to coast and scoring. The way Scottie can run transitions off steals or deflections. Mobley can certainly play the 5 better and gives you superior rim protection with great agility for his size but I think overall in terms of versatility Scottie checks more boxes, 1 through 5. He might not do some specific things better than Mobley and i think both guys would fit our system perfectly but Scottie gives Nurse a little more flexibility out there. He is a coaches dream. A true unicorn type player. Right now he's having a good time knocking down set shots and backing down smaller defenders but once we see his shot improve even more it's going to be scary when you see him bringing the ball up court more often and shooting over smaller guys with more ease. He's becoming a bully rn..
