Cade and Barnes both have been putting in a big final push for that ROY race. Mobley I thought would perhaps see a jump in production with Allen out but he's been a pretty consistent 14 to 15 PPG ever month this season he hasn't really jumped up but he's just been consistent all year.

It's only been four games so far, so the sample size is small, but it's noteworthy. In that span, Mobley is putting up the following averages:

19.5 PPG on 55% FG
12 RPG
3 APG
1.75 SPG
1.75 BPG

This is on top of still playing elite defense. If these were his averages for the entire season, he'd be the overwhelming favorite to win ROY with no one even calling it into question. Jarrett Allen is instrumental to Cleveland's success, and I personally do not think they will hold their 6th spot now that he's gone with injury. But it's opening the door for Mobley to showcase that he is also capable of being a very good second option, as well as a walking double double with elite defense (you know, just like Allen). I hate that Allen is injured, but this opportunity is exactly what Mobley needed.

i do want to point out that in the games where mobley plays but allen doesn't, the cavs are 2-5 with a -44 point differential. their DRTG also drops 4.8 points to 112.5. so essentially they play top 5 defense with allen and mobley but bottom 10 defense when it's just mobley.

Nick Nurse laughs and says "we played Scottie 56 minutes on Jan 29th. Suck it up."

But yeah, those a big minutes.

Its a good lesson for the OP who was starting threads calling him a bust during SL

Lol I see somebody remember that but anyway this gotta be one of the best rookie classes I ever seen

Still think Pistons take Cade #1, cant say the same for everyone else but Pistons love what they got. They definitely dont take Barnes over him so i guess its just a debate over Mobley.

To echo what others have said, it's pretty crazy that most nights, he is the 4th or 5th scoring option. When given more leeway, he almost always responds. He IS too unselfish at times when watching, but we also don’t know what is being said behind closed doors. Nurse says he wants him to be more aggressive, then admits that he never runs plays for him.....lol.

In the end, all Raps fans are very happy with his season since he was supposed to one of the "projects" from the draft.

And remember, he only played 24 last year in college and came off the bench. His "jump" to what he is today is likely the highest compared to where they all played last year.

Theres no proof of this, but having Thaddeus Young there has helped a lot imo. We've seen improved play in him and Precious since the Thad trade (and maybe a couple other players as well).

.288 from 3 is a bit tough.

He’s the best prospect in Raptors franchise history, no question about it.

If you give me an option to take any rookie in this class I'm taking Cade without giving it more than 2 seconds of thought. If you ask Cavs fans they take Mobley. If you ask Raps fans they take Scottie Barnes.

Cade projects to be a heliocentric lead guard that can score from anywhere, run the offense and guard multiple positions. Mobley projects to be a two-way big that can anchor a defense, guard guys on the perimeter and down low, and score the ball efficiently. Scottie Barnes projects to be a do-it-all wing that can create his own shot, make plays for his teammates, rebound, and defend multiple positions. You could make a case for all 3 as the #1 pick in a re-draft.

That is pretty special. That isn't even getting to the likes of Kuminga and Jalen Green who have absurd physical tools that could propel them to the top of the class eventually.

I have read something like that even about other players in the draft class, too.
