Re: 2022 Brewers Trades, Transactions, News - Stearns has 1 or 2 Years Left on Contract

Our pitching staff is arguably the best in MLB, if we can add one more solid bat I think we can make a real run at this thing. I also expect Stearns will deal from out Outfield prospect depth around the deadline to shore us up
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

He was solid
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Nelson Cruz gets one year and $15 million to be a DH. Going rate.

$12 million with mutual option for 2023, $3 million buyout if not exercised

Meh

I was stunned when I saw he hit 27 HR's last season though. Where did that come from? I guess thinking about it more it's kind a classic Brewers move. Try to approximate the numbers they would get from a Soler/Cruz type of player but try to do it without having to handout a long term contract while having another guy who can still at least play some defense.

He killed left handed pitching last year. If he's DH'd smartly he'd probably be a good pickup.

Oh please Mark A, go all in and allow us to sign Freeman. Wont happen but man that would make us instant WS contenders. Last year we had ELITE pitching cant rely on that every year so we need consistent hitters. I like McCutchen. Really likeable guy. if him and Lo Cain can get a little fountain of youth bounce back this year Brewers could be a very well rounded team. That said still need to figure out 1st. Not sold on Rowdy

That newly added April game vs SF is in between road series in PA. Not ideal.

20 of their last 26 games will be at home which is crazy.

As a less-than-casual baseball fan, what's the verdict on this offseason? For a team on the cusp, I thought there would be at least 1 "win-now" move? :dontknow:

I feel like the DH being universal was our big move.
