He's really making me a believer his ability to make plays without turning the ball over and making clutch shots is a revelation

Dinwiddie has been a high energy guy for Dallas. They needed someone to be that and he's done nothing hustled so far. As long as he doesn't make many mistakes and capitalizes on his free throws I will be content.

Since I hated Softzingis, I loved the trade from the first moment. I would have traded him for a chewing gum.

Getting capable players in exchange is just great.

if hes good, he makes brunson expendable. the plan should be trading sign and trade brunson and farm for someone like beal.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Beal is not the most needed. You cannot have a $120M backcourt. Feeling good with Luka/Brunson/Bullock/Dwindle/Green backcourt rotation. Always have two players on the court who can initiate the offense.
I would rather resign Brunson and do a THJ+Bertans/Dwight/Maxi+1st for Allen/Collins/Clint level starting F/C.

I’d like to see them keep Brunson and just add a center with size. I like the 3 PG lineup, especially down the stretch.

Spencer’s big enough to be a SF defensively for short stretches, and he’s often not quick enough to guard point, unless his length is bothersome for his matchup.

It was a very hyperbolic reaction to the trade IMO.

You can

But you might have to employ those OKC court wipers to provide a lick of defence

Dinwiddle has been so far great. providing ball handling and creator to give Luka some rest and putting in that performance to get a win when he's out isnt something KP could really do

His Length as well really helps, Having him Who can guard 1-3 helps the mavs being able to shuffle Luka to the least threatening offensive target on D. KP couldnt switch at all.

Bump

Mavs are 9-2 in games Dinwiddie has played. Highest plus/minus on the team in those 11.

Great sequence.
1. Luka's tight handle being triple teamed.
2. The fake diss to DFS to freeze Horford so Dinwiddie can have enough time to shoot.
3. Dinwiddie super confident after several turnovers and shot being blocked earlier in the game.
4. DFS remained in his position, in shooting ready mode until the ball going in.
5. Dinwiddie being knocked away after chest bump with Luka in the air.

Dinwiddie has always been nice. Wiz were just terribly run and inexplicably committed to Losema err Kuzma as their guy.

He's been great in Dallas.

He looks a tiny bit slower to me, but he is just playing his role perfectly. He also seems to understand like everyone else that the Mavs are Luka's team, and everyone else comes second. He mentioned in an interview how he likes that the roles are really well defined, no matter what they are. He accepted that he doesn't have the ball in his hand when Luka is on the court, but shares the 2nd/3rd role with Brunson.

Seems a bit Luka centric, but you can't argue with the results on the Mavs and the obvious chemistry they are showing. I think both Dinwiddie and Brunson are realizing how much they can actually feast in a game if Luka gets going and opponents are forced to double him. With 2 actual extra creators suddenly just doubling Luka all the time doesn't work anymore, and the results are here.

Kidd has done a hell of a job with this team and this roster. They are playing such disciplined basketball on both ends. I definitely didn't see the Kidd for Carlisle coaching swap as a net neutral or positive but so far this season it has been

He looked great yesterday. He's a legit option when Luka inevitably gets double-teamed, leads to open shots for him. Also has plenty of handles himself and can lead a bench unit when Luka is resting.

Dallas did a great job at forcing the Cs bigs into man defense at the perimeter, which gave them some good looks. They also played pretty damn cohesively on the defensive end, which I was not expecting as a Cs fan. I was impressed and, as the poster above me said, was not expecting this level of quality team play from a coach like Kidd. I was wrong.

Dinwiddie was great on the Nets.

Wasn't really sure what happened to him in DC. Seems like there were chemistry issues.

Him and Luka are a great fit. Good to see him doing well.
