Story has already turned down at least one nine-figure offer from a team that wanted him to change positions....Hmmm wonder if this was the Jays asking if he would be willing to play 2nd or 3rd?

In order on the MLB Pipeline list of Braves top 30 prospects, #1, #2, #6 and #14.

Pache is #38 on the top 100 MLB-wide, Langeliers is #69

That's quite the price, how long is Matt controlled for? 2-3 year? Can't possibly be giving that much for a potential rental.

Edit - I'm guessing we would would have to do same kind of thing to get Jose Ramiez

Some rumblings now that Freddie Freeman is signing with the Jays. I can't say the media sources are as high level as I would like, but if it happens, will be interesting to say the least. Vlad really wants another shot at 3B, worked all winter at it. Not saying it would be him at 3B, but he'd likely get some reps so other vets could DH on occasion.

I’ve noticed that on instagram he lists himself as the Jays 3B. I noticed that over the winter.

The Mariners are finalizing agreement on a deal that would bring in star outfielder Jesse Winker from the Reds, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN (Twitter link). Seattle is also acquiring third baseman Eugenio Suárez, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com (on Twitter).

In return, Cincinnati is acquiring outfielder Jake Fraley, pitching prospect Brandon Williamson and right-hander Justin Dunn, Feinsand adds. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports (on Twitter) that Seattle is assuming the remaining three years and $35MM on Suárez’s contract.

I'd like have to see the Jays pursue this type of trade, grab another star outfielder, then deal our surplus outfield depth for something else.

Also think Eugenio Suarez, could be a good bounce back candidate, locked to relatively modest 3 year / 35 mill deal.

I am a big time Freddie Freeman fan, but I just don't understand the fit, or how it would work.

Freddie Freeman is one of the league's best hitters, however age has to be considered since he's going to be 33 at the end of this season, and the fact that he's a UFA has me a bit concerned about the length of deal we'll have to offer?

Rosenthal: Would Carlos Correa sign a one-year deal? – The Athletic

Count the Blue Jays among the half-dozen or so clubs indicating strong interest in outfielder Kyle Schwarber, who has emerged as one of the more coveted remaining free agents.

Schwarber, who turned 29 earlier this month, would give the Jays needed left-handed presence and plate discipline. He also is a target of the Phillies, whose new hitting coach Kevin Long, helped Schwarber revive with the Nationals last season.
