Even more incredible is that the Warriors from their title in 1975 (sweeping our Bullets btw) till 2015 were very similar to the Bullets/Wizards in having lots of lottery teams, limited playoffs, and terrible front office decisions.

We’re never getting out of this suckiness in our lifetimes and with the Leonsis family at the healm

In 2011, after Jan Vesely was drafted #6, Golden State selected Klay Thompson #11.

Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, Reggie Jackson and several other solid players were drafted later.

Washington has consistently drafted poorly outside of Wall and Beal.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Grunfeld's flunkie is no better than Grunfeld was.

We definitely weren’t drafting Curry. Johnny Flynn or Jordan Hill would be the most hated player in Wizards history.

The NBA should just contract the Wizards, or maybe move them to Seattle?

I'll start rooting for DC basketball again when they the district gets an expansion team.

Bullets seems like a great name.

Some positives...
Avidja is shooting the ball and has made a couple baskets. Hopefully he is getting out of his funk that he is in.
KCP, Neto (dare I say), and Kuzma are keeping us competitive, if you want to call it that.

Some negatives...
Hachimura should drive to the basket more. He is settling for the 3's only.
Kispert should shoot more. He is playing it too safe.
Where is Bryant??

I don't get the Hachimura criticism. You do realize that he's shooting 3's because that's how the offense is set up? Hachimura only has 3 attempts in the half and he's 2/2 from 3. We've basically reduced him to Davis Bertans. His role offensively is to provide space so that Neto/Smith/Kuzma/KCP can be featured. In addition, the 3's that he took in the first half were wide open. If he would have driven, the defense would have been waiting for him. Maybe you meant to say that Hachimura should be more aggressive. But even then I'd point out that we only actually ran one play for Hachimura in the half. The baseline play when he matched up with Moody and drew a foul. If a players role is to stand at the 3-point line and shoot 3's, it's kind of unfair to criticize for doing precisely what is expected.

This. It’s the same thing they do with Deni. They sit these young forwards out on the perimeter and only want them to shoot threes. Hard to find a natural rhythm just being pigeon holed into one thing on offense.

Didn’t watch as I was sick and tired of being angry with WUJ but a positive result seeing that this is a solid losing streak we are going on, now 4 games out of 10th. Not only are the loses piling up, but how we are losing is putting bed the idea it’s a good idea for the team should do anything but tank. I just need Denver and Jokic to further drive the sword in the next game and give it a solid twist in front of the home crowd.

Maybe then, Kuzma, KCP, and Neto will stop being treated like future HoFers.

After another loss and embarrassing defensive performance it's clear that the tank is fully on. In Wes and his captain Neto at the helm we trust!

Problem is I can not see us sliding down more than 8th or 9th..and that is is we continue to tank masterfully..This means a 26% (8th) or 17% (9th) chance of a top 4 pick. If we end up 11th then the probability of a top 4 pick drops to 9%...

The way I see it, this is our only short term fix to change the trajectory of this sad state of affairs...

The other move would be to convince PHI to take on Brad's new contract and get Maxey + in return..

I've got a clear top 10, so if we end up 9 or 10 then we have no excuse not to get Eason, Mathurin, or Daniels.

Mathurin seems to be going under the radar on this board. He is the youngest Sophomore in this class and is a full 2 years younger than Murray.
Mathurin is KCP on Day 1, with a very clear lane to being Miles Bridges by year 3-4.
I like Daniels because his floor, like Mathurin, is so high. Even if the shooting doesnt stick, his IQ and defense will allow him to be a key player on a competitor.

Eason is the wildcard. He is toolsy and all effort on the court, but he needs to be with a team/culture that can properly cultivate that. I think he ends up in Portland.

Fwiw, I have Mathurin going 8th. Here's what I posted in the draft forum:

Here's my top 20 projection for this moment in time:

1. Chet
2. Jabari Smith
3. Jordan Ivey
4. Banchero
5. Keegan Murray
6. Shaeden Sharpe
7. AJ Griffin - but he's falling
8. Matherin
9. Jovic
10. Johnny Davis
11. Dyson Daniels
12. Kendall Brown
13. Tari Eason
14. Jeremy Sochan
15. Wendell Moore
16. Walker Kessler
17. Mark Williams
18. Ochai Agbaji
19. Oscar Tshiebue
20. Trayce Jackson-Davis

Duren and TyTy don't make it. Overall, I think this is a typical average draft. There are some good players after 20.

It's looking like 12 is our most likely slot, so Kendall Brown is who I have us getting.
