LaMelo is the better player and the better fit. He always was.

Except he doesn’t really play defense, and there is no way he or his family would have tolerated him coming off the bench. I think Lonzo might have bern a good fit for GSW though.

Bottom line? Get him playing NBA minutes now. And hope he shows enough that you he'll be playable in the playoffs. Having no size could be the one thing that ends the Warriors' playoff hopes.
Come on Wiseman. You're going to be needed. And soon. Maybe that's just 10 minutes a game. But Beli is the worst defensive "big" I've ever seen and will be destroyed in the playoffs if he's given meaningful minutes.
The Warriors owners and GM didn't think he'd take this long to come back.

Re: James Wiseman 2021/2022
Wiseman will really help the team if I saw him covering on drives in his 2 games so far.
Him and his arms alone make opponents throw up bad shots. I didn't see that in his rookie year.
Him replacing Belli is already a plus on both end. Missing layups and soft D from Belli needs to stop. Or rather Kerr needs to stop playing him.

I’m actually glad we didn’t draft LaMelo. I’d rather root against him than for him even if he would make us better. He’d probably try to upstage Curry.

Wiseman will probably have a better career than LaMelo. And Center was what we needed. No disrepect to Looney.
The only qustion is Wiseman's mind and I am not worried about that yet. He just has not proven himself yet.

The fact that people here deny LaMelo to this day is wild. Guys, it's over. LaMelo won. lol

The fact that people are making posts like this after Wiseman has played 39 NBA games, with no pre-season, no training camp and playing alongside multiple g-leaguers is just wild. Jokic might have something to say about these types of proclamations.EvanZ wrote:The fact that people here deny LaMelo to this day is wild. Guys, it's over. LaMelo won. lol

Not everyone is as enamored with him as you are. His shooting percentages drop throughout the year and he was dreadful in their play-in game last season. I’m curious to see how he does in the play-in this year and if he is still a turnstile on defense.

Re: James Wiseman 2021/2022
Well first 4 minute stint of Wiseman tonight looked really solid. Forget the stats (0-1, 1 Reb, 1 block), he's moving well, sprinting the floor, boxing out really well, had a block and altered another one. Got zero offensive touches outside of an awful lob attempt and would have had 6+ points on breakaways if anyone on this team had the ability to look up the court lol. Only downside is he did sort of bobble a bad pass the one time someone tried to hit him in transition... hands still a tad Foyle-ish. Looks good though!

I didn't watch, but besides the Foyle part that sounds promising. The way I see it the less box score numbers the better. Just means he's doing more of the little things.

Agree with your observations. My concern is that he has had several plays so far in which his hands remain suspect. I don't mind the occasional dropped ball; even Jerry Rice didn't catch everything. But I am afraid it could be a continuing pattern from last season. One rebound (that wasn't heavily contested although the ball appeared to come at him before he was ready) went through his hands but fortunately went to a teammate. And besides the awful lob attempt you mentioned, there was another lob that he missed - granted it was another bad pass but not as bad as the first one and I was hoping that someone with a catch radius as his could/should be able to snag those lobs that mere mortals cannot. Again, he's looked good otherwise but just something to keep an eye on.

Dubs need to borrow a jugs machine from the Niners and get him on it.

Ya he really hasn't caught anything cleanly. And this 2nd stint of minutes has been even worse in terms of just general awareness with a turnover and a couple bad defensive drop coverages. Still a handful of more moments where he got himself open and someone like Steph or dray would have found him.... where-as with this team he's just running up and down the floor doing cardio for nothing.
So overall, not a great half for him, but also just seems like a useless experiment other than getting his conditioning up. Time to bring him up to the big team and let him get rewarded by players that can actually pass.

Never thought I would miss Chiozza, I don't think this team has a point guard.

This is seriously hard to watch. Not a good game for anyone that was talking about the benefits of the G-League on this board
This needs to be Wiseman's last game in the G-League. He's physically ready, time to split some backup minutes with Belly.

A g league player just protected his shooting percentage by not shooting the ball at the end of the half.
