Without Gary Harris and Jalen Suggs we had no good perimeter defenders with some braincells.
Bamba is more of a impostor than defender.
Really not suprising we lost against super motivated Nets team. Move along.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Look at what the heat have done in the last decade alone.... while we've been stuck where we're at. They have hall-of-famer Pat Riley running the show while we have a greasy car salesman trying to impersonate a basketball mind.

Riley is doing things that most forum hates. He does not uses lottery as some miracle that will somehow save him.
When Heat end up being bad team, he normally drafts well ( Herro, Adebayo both will recive max or near max money, despite being last lottery picks selected ). But he is not activlly looking to suck for picks.

Where Heat excells is in trading and ulitzing undrafted players pool to fix their roster issues. With Butler and Adebayo spacing was issue so he founded Duncan Robinson, Vincent ,Strus.
But for him, having one leader is obvious goal every time. In past it was Wade, now it's Butler. Similar players on and off court, hall of fame , no BS type players.

Heat's roster average draft position is 41th. Their players, are by FAAAR lowest drafted players in nba today.
Magic roster average draft position is 15. Our players, are by FAAAAR highest drafted players in nba.

Outcomes, however, show one team standing at 45-24 , other on 18-52. But what Orlando fans want to continue to do? Suck more, so they can add more picks that probably don't fit roster, but are "BPA" so they can have more roster inbalances without clear picture what they want to be or who to build team around . And cycle continues to next draft and same things, until one day they somehow find another Shaq, Dwight to save them. In mean time 10 years of being irrelevant will probably turn into 15 years.

Heat are always in the mix for star players regardless of cap space, assets, and, especially, “timeline”. Riley only rolls his eyes at whole concept of tanking. He demands relevancy every season

Kyrie didn't have to do us like that lol. I'm sure he could've gone for 80 if he stayed in.

Anyway on to the next one we got to out tank the Pistons next, big game for both teams.

If there is any doubt about the importance of defense at the PG slot, this game provides all the evidence we ever need.

How does a defensive give up 53 made FGs AND 28 made FTs ???.

The Net put the ball in the direction of the rim 122 times ! (88 FGs and 34 FTs). That is the worst defensive box-score line I have ever seen.

Positivity stat of the game: the Magic was neutral in TO-differential (both teams at 12).

Having Goran Dragić and Kyrie Irving combine for 60 is a tough stat-line!

Spoiler:
Can you imagine being Dragić in this game ???

I know Orl got absolutely spanked but i really think the NBA has got it totally wrong as far as the rules go.
I would either eliminate the 3-second paint rule or extend it to at least 6 secs.
I would be far tighter on phantom fouls - officials to be reviewed more closely for awarding them and players retrospectively fined and/or suspended for flopping/simulation.
Thirdly, and more relevant to the Nets game - I would clamp down massively on moving screens.

The rules as they stand produce a very diluted product.

That's an embarrassing loss. It sucks when the only time the Magic make the ESPN front page is for something like this. As some have already said, I understand a loss like this on the road every once in a while. I'm not sure how this happens at home.

Side Note: Team seems to be at its worst with R.J. Hampton in the starting lineup.

Side Note #2: I realize we're tanking, but Gary Harris doesn't deserve to be benched every other game in a contract year. He's played well all season and seems to be a good team guy. I don't care if they bench Ross because he's been disinterested and awful. But Harris should be playing.

Embarrassing loss. Kyrie is an amazing player, but we also made it so easy for him. If there was ever any doubt that Harris not playing every other game is a tanking move, this game should put an end to it. Suggs was out, Kyrie was destroying RJ, Ross was a disaster on both ends as usual, but Harris didn't get a single minute.

I agree with everything except Harris. We already raised his value a ton, teams know he is still very good. Maintaining his health is a lot more important.

Harris would probably rather sit out and protect his health these last 12 games.

Embarrassing is definitely what this was. Everyone from the coaching staff, players and front office should be, I know I am. Lose by 40 and see a guy go for 60, they where up by 30 and left him in so that he could. Yeah we suck and Kyrie is a great player but we showed nothing this game. I know the players and coaches are going to spin this as Kyrie is a superstar and had it going nothing we could do clap clap good try but they need to be more upset than that. We played/coached like losers and just accepted it.

Ross is down to 29.6% shooting from 3, BTW, he's been an amazing tank commander this season.

Ross and RJ have been an amazing tanking duo, they have the worst net rating of any duo which has played more than 500 minutes together this season (-18.9), and by some margin too.
