This is my recollection, too. He was possibly Michigan's best player when he went down.

Yes he definitely was. Michigan possibly wins the title if he doesn't get hurt.

Livers has a beautiful shot. Not much leg lift, but high above his head, great form, and he’s really got the repeatable mechanics down. Don’t think he has the reflexes or lateral quickness of the aforementioned Battier, but he is a sound defender.

Don’t know what the future holds for him, but that’s good second round pick. I would hope he can get 20 consistent minutes, not just as we run out the string this year, but next year, too.

Other than Cade, Livers could turn out to be Weaver's second best pick so far.

Bey certainly looks like it so far, but Livers has arrived ready to contribute without the benefit of preseason and only a few games in the G league. We'll know better by this time next season.

Either way, having another good young wing with high BBIQ and a team first attitude is a huge bonus at pick 42. Only a quarter of the Pistons second round picks since 2000 have stuck in the league beyond their rookie deals, but I see Livers as one that is likely to succeed.

Livers made a beautiful shot in the second half of last game, he drove left and with really solid defense played against him, he jumped up and to the left, kind of leaning and shot over the guy right in front of him.

That is an extremely hard shot and it was very smooth. Especially going left.

I have never seen Bey make a shot like that and actually it would be impossible for him since he shoots from his chest and that shot would have been blocked/stolen/knocked away.

Livers does look smaller than I originally thought though. We should try him at SG some game for fun.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Livers ultimately becomes a bigger part of the Pistons' offense than Bey. Bey obviously CAN shoot the 3, and he CAN put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack, but he still goes cold from outside, drives into heavy traffic too often, and his defense is miserable. Now, I don't want that to be the case in the sense that I hope Bey gets back to well over 40% shooting, dials it back on pushing the iso stuff a bit, and learns to play some D so he continues to be a big part of the team moving forward. I just hope that Livers becomes just as good as Bey CAN be. We haven't seen him put it on the floor yet (other than the pretty aforementioned baseline drive jumper) but as a big Michigan fan I can assure you that he had no problem doing that in college. He's definitely a jack of all trades kinda player, hence being a good "glue" guy--maybe not ever going to be a superstar at any one thing but will always help and never hurt the team with his play.

With the contracts handed out, Livers, Bey, Stewart, Lee, Hayes are all going to be free agents the summer of 2024.... and as of right now only Cade is under contract beyond that. Of course that will change in a few months when we add another first rounder, possibly extend Grant and sign other FAs to potentially longer deals.

Just interesting that Bey and Livers, who may end up playing similar roles and eventually come closer to splitting time at SF.... will both be FAs at the same time. Bey is about 9 months younger.
