Bey obviously CAN shoot the 3, and he CAN put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack, but he still goes cold from outside, drives into heavy traffic too often, and his defense is miserable. Now, I don't want that to be the case in the sense that I hope Bey gets back to well over 40% shooting, dials it back on pushing the iso stuff a bit, and learns to play some D so he continues to be a big part of the team moving forward. I just hope that Livers becomes just as good as Bey CAN be. We haven't seen him put it on the floor yet (other than the pretty aforementioned baseline drive jumper) but as a big Michigan fan I can assure you that he had no problem doing that in college. He's definitely a jack of all trades kinda player, hence being a good "glue" guy--maybe not ever going to be a superstar at any one thing but will always help and never hurt the team with his play.
With the contracts handed out, Livers, Bey, Stewart, Lee, Hayes are all going to be free agents the summer of 2024.... and as of right now only Cade is under contract beyond that. Of course that will change in a few months when we add another first rounder, possibly extend Grant and sign other FAs to potentially longer deals.
Just interesting that Bey and Livers, who may end up playing similar roles and eventually come closer to splitting time at SF.... will both be FAs at the same time. Bey is about 9 months younger.
