Nash was a guy that thrived with adequate spacing around him during his hey day, and then was a part of GS’s training staff. Pretty sure he knows the value of spacing.

He just hasn’t had personnel for it. I’d be surprised if he keeps playing complete non shooter lineups now that we have Curry and Dragic in the fold. Especially once Kyrie, KD, and Joe are back too.

Thing is though, two of our key pieces are Simmons and Drummond. Neither can shoot worth a damn. And it’s gonna be hard to not play them together.

He complained about spacing in a post-game. then started our worst statistical shooter and undrafted 2-way guy in Duke Jr. (18% at the time), while leaving edwards on the bench. He then double down by playing "Big" with brown/johnson/blake or claxton lineups.

Even after aquiring curry, he has in all 3 games say curry and mills at the same time for long stretches while going big with Brown at SF and Blake at PF.

he might value spacing, but he is too dumb to manage things to maxmize it through a game.

The team/staff has also done nothing to extend LMA's range out to the three point line. there is no reaosn he shouldnt be taking 2-3 threes a game on pick and pops. He shot 39% and 36% on 3 attempts per game his last 2 years with the spurs. Even if he struggles there, having him attempt to extend the range to see if he can is enormously beneficial

Really wasn't mad at Nash's coaching today. Feel like any critique would be nit picking tbh

what part were you ok with?

-Leaving drummond out/living with switching drummond who was getting cooked?
-pulling KD in the 4th once they cut it from 14 to 7 and Luka coming in?
-Going iso iso iso even vs double teams when we destroyed their trap all night moving the ball?
-not putting KD on the Center so the switch on the pick is KD and not Drummond

it was one of the worst coached games all year

I wish. Seems like Nash hasn't lost the team at all despite his idiocy. The way these guys have bounced back after we got the cancer out of the locker room says as much.

I mean, Nash seems to be a very player friendly coach and not some hard ass. Which is fine. But his decision making kills us and the only thing that undercuts his negative impact is having KD and Kyrie together. How long is this sustainable?

Agreed, and he finally figured out what to do with the blitzing in the third quarter, even though it took that long. But the Drummond switching was God awful; I was screaming why on earth is Drummond out on a switch when Luka knows he's going to have a field day with that matchup.

if Nash did not have KD and Ky for a full season, Coach Steve Nash could seriously challenge the 12-70 record....

Nash is doing a great job recently. Our offense been on fire and our defense improving. We're competing with league's hottest teams despite being depleted and consequently different lineup every game. In game adjustments are quicker. I see the same people here still crying. Carry on.

Nash has been terrible and getting worse not better. this last stretch is some of the worst coaching we have seen from him and the miami and dallas losses being up 15 and refusing to adjust to obvious things and throwing insane lineups at crucial times cost us both games.

Our offense is on fire... not because of Nash. Kyrie dropped 50 and 60 points. that not nash, thats kyrie being a basketball god. KD goes for 53 and we still BARELY beat a bad knicks team.

This is the stuff i was pointing out last year but no one wanted to listen cause we were winning. we win 4 of 5 and now people are back to "nash is doing good"

No the F he isnt. still the same 101, 3rd grade coach awful awful mistakes.

We are competing vs good/hot teams.... OF COURSE WE ARE. we always should. we have KEVIN EFFING DURANT. We should compete vs any team every night. when KD/Kyrie both player we should like never lose.

im not sure how marks can keep his job with how this is going. we cant keep throwing away games with awful coaching while we have 2 top 10 players. I dont care that marks is buddies with nash. fire the moron or you can both go kick rocks.

Obviously he can't do it now but Marks needs to Will Smith Nash at the end of the season
