He's already doing full-contact and just needs a long ramp. These are facts. What you're talking about is speculation.

if he was up to full contact, why couldnt he do that with the team? get in a few games. and he has had plenty of a long ramp
Fultz had full-contact for months before he was playing in games. They have no pressure to win so why rush it?

Well, the fact is that he's not doing full contact 5v5 with the team at practice - I think the speculation is that he'll be good to go for training camp since he still needs to improve to get there. It's a pretty likely assumption because at that point something would've had to have gone terribly wrong to not be a full participant after 24 months of rehab - but it's still speculation.
He's doing 5 vs 5 in the half-court as far as I know. Are you breaking some news?

I listened to the whole Isaac interview and I heard him say that he was doing "some contact work" in the half-court. It seems like you are the one breaking news by adding "5-on-5" and "full-contact" to what the man said.

I swear basketballRob is an Isaac burner account. Every single discussion about JI includes these weird, irrational arguments supported by made-up facts. I just don't understand the point -- it seems like you are constantly promoting some narrative that he is absolutely fine and we're all being alarmists because we don't like JI? I honestly don't get it.

My thought was from the GM's interview, where he JI was ready, but the ramp up time would finish at the end of the season, so no need to ramp him up.

Where does he say it's not 5 on 5. Do you and Swarles have a source? I'm not even sure how you guys come up with this stuff. Is there a type of basketball game that's played with less than 5 on each team?

Pepe spent a year saying Dennis Smith Jr was better than Fultz. Plus he said Fultz would never play again and he was just trying to get money for nothing.

That's right according to you Bamba wouldn't be able to play full games because he'd foul out. He wouldn't be able to start because he'd be injured.

Isaac will be back for training camp next season.

And you claimed he would be averaging 20 points, 15 rebounds 5 blocks if he gets Vuc PT :)

I don't want to argue with you nor i care about your opinion, but it's so obvious that you have burning desire to fight everybody who says anything that isn't 100% positive about Isaac just like you fighted everybody who said anything bad about Bamba.

Isaac will be back for training camp next season.

If he doesn't he is probably medically retired anyway, since October of 2022 will mark 26 months since injury occured.

Klay Thompson missed 31 month and in that time period had both ACL tear and achillie tear.

PBO Weltman stated that Isaac is doing full contact in half-court sets. He is not doing anything full court. I interpret that to "Isaac is healthy but not ready" more than anything else.

I doubt this is the reason why he is not coming back this season, but he's picked up another injury. I can't read the article because I'm in the UK, but I'm assuming he's picked up this injury whilst doing drills or something?

Shams just tweeted that he'd had surgery on the hamstring, but then deleted.

Don't know if the O-Sen article mentions it as am in the UK and can't access.

The Magic press release says that Isaac had a "small surgical procedure" for a "minor hamstring injury". I think if you injure your hamstring so badly that you need surgery it's not minor. They typically just rest hamstring injuries.

Weltman's quote: "Obviously, this was unexpected." Really?

Isaac suffers setback (hamstring surgery)

Post#939 » by PrimeThyme » Tue Mar 22, 2022 3:02 pm

It turns out, after all this time, this wasn’t some 8D grand chess move on Weltman’s part to improve our lottery chances. I know that will be really shocking for some considering his brilliance.

Many of us have remained steady with our posts all year speculating that he suffered some sort of setback. It seemed obvious, even if our GM felt the need to keep fans of the team in complete darkness and act like he hadn’t.

With that being said, this is a disaster scenario for Isaac. Another injury to add to his long list. He doesn’t have the body for high level basketball, the proof of that dates all the way back to high school. I think it’s pretty much over people.

The best thing to do would probably be to cut our losses bar this point but Weltman with his foolish pride would never do it.

Spoiler:
Read on Twitter

ORLANDO – Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac suffered a minor right hamstring injury during rehabilitation and has undergone a small surgical procedure, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today.

“Obviously, this was unexpected,” said Weltman. “No one will work harder than Jonathan in the goal to return for the start of next season.”

Isaac was ruled out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season last week (Mar. 15).

Isaac (6’10”, 230, 10/3/97) missed the entire 2020-21 season due to a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that was suffered on Aug. 2, 2020 vs. Sacramento during the NBA restart at Disney. He was also sidelined for 39 games during the 2019-20 campaign due to injuries as well.

Wow, I'm honestly so over this guy. Let's just keep it moving I don't factor him into the future anymore.
