That’s great. I’ve gone twice, but only for the first weekend. Now I’m going to date myself a bit….

First time I went I ditched school junior year of high school to cheer on my DePaul Blue Demons. Got to see the greastest game I’ve ever seen in person when Rod Strickland and DePaul beat Mark Jackson and St.John’s in the 2nd round. DePaul down 3 on the line, made the first and then missed the 2nd on purpose and it actually worked…Kevin Edwards got the rebound and laid it in to send it to OT.

2nd time I got to see a few guys named Grant Hill, Jason Kidd and Bobby Hurley.

Nothing more fun than going to tourney games for a weekend, especially when you are young. Now the thought of spending all that time at the arena instead of my couch sounds horrific.

Both of those are great!

Yeah not dated too much you got a couple years on me but I clearly remember those Blue Demons.

Opening seeding games going on.... fight for the 16th seed

Also NIT and the like has its opening round tonight, if anyone has a burning desire to see basketball other than the slate of NBA on tonight.
Cheers

Lots of good teams this year. I could see close to 10 winning the title.

I love watching Charles analyze college basketball. He barely watches the NBA. I doubt he even knows 10 players in all of NCAA.

That dude Abu Kigab almost single-handedly willed Boise St to a come back win against Memphis. He’s a senior but is legit.. 2nd team all conference, 1st team all defense, and conference tournament MVP.

Jalen Duren is going to eat Chet Holmgren alive next round. Zags will probably lose in the 2nd round if they don't get hot from 3.

Finish 'em off, St. Peters!
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I watch way more NBA than College. Obviously NBA players are better but subtle quality differences that stand out.

1. NBA players almost never inadvertently step out of bounds. College players do it uncontested regularly.
2. NBA refs are better in every way. The gap is quite large.
3. You really appreciate how good NBA players are at beating simple defenses when you watch college teams unable to handle a full court press or the same simple zone played for 40 minutes.
4. 2 Halves is better than 4 Quarters. I gladly take a longer halftime for a switch to halves.

Chet Holmgren first player in tournament history with 15+ points, 15+ rebounds, 5+ blocks, and 5 assists in a game.

What a debut.

Cant really disagree with any of this. But Ill throw out some positives for college ball.

1. Very little to zero complaining about the refs from players. You very rarely ever see a player sit there and not run back because he is yelling at the ref.

2. Not every team just spams the 3 ball shot. There are far more varieties of offenses still in college basketball.

3. The game to game effort from the players is far greater in college compared to the NBA.

I do enjoy point 1. I suspect there would be a massive player mutiny but I truly think the NBA would benefit if they could eliminate complaining to the refs.

No one enjoys watching it.

On Point 2. The NBA's problem is the 3 point is too close for the skill of the players. They need to push it back. We'll be at a 50 3par.

On Point 3, I don't think effort is better in college
