Statistically maybe, but you still can't touch Isiah Thomas 43 pts in game 6 of the '88 Finals. That was the injured ankle game where he dropped 25 in the 3rd quarter alone against the defending (and soon to be repeating) NBA Champions. It wasn't against some scrub team; this was the biggest possible stage.bstein14 wrote:Bey's performance last night might actually be the most impressive offensive performance by a Piston player of all time.
Bey 17-27 (and he heaved a late 3 point shot to end the 1st half), 10-14 from deep, and 7-10 from the FT line.
Stack went 21 of 36 to get his 57 points
RIP went 19-37 to get his 51 points
Bing went 22-38 to get his 54 points
Blake went 20-35 to get his 50 points
Thomas went 18-34 to get his career high of 47 points
Not sure if people realize just how special that Bey performance was last night. I know it gets knocked down a bit for being a bad team versus a bad team in a "meaningless" game but it was something we might not see by a Piston again for a long time.
The real travesty is that was also the phantom foul game against Lamb that cost us a championship.
