Official Scottie Barnes Thread 2

He just didn't need to reach on Morris, which is what led to the blowby. Morris is not going to beat you cleanly or stepback for 3 too often. Scottie seems like he is just unclear on positioning and scouting, but he's also being given a lot of assignments. In two years we won't even remember him as a struggling man to man defender.

Not sure if if he's been mentioned as a comp for Scottie, but coming in as a 6'9 220, 21 year old top-2 pick the similarities are interesting. Barnes is more explosive but both he's a physical forward who had a simple mid-range game and from the looks of it knew how to get into the opponents head....found the similarities kind of eerie really.

Imagine a rookie with those broad set of skills...we're lucky to be able to see how he develops game to game over the next 3 years.

Another one that someone had posted early on in the season, was Marques Johnson. Johnson was a 5x All Star who averaged 20/7/3.5 over a career. Looks like a neck injury derailed his career.

I think the most important thing Scottie needs to work on in the off season is his pace.

You can limit the lack of burst hurting you by mastering your pace, I really hope he watches a bunch of Luka tape in the off season.

I don't take offense at this boy cus I remember being a greenhorn too, but you gotta simmer down. I got friends in high places... and the low. I ain' sayin' you weak in the spine but I find it funny you only sayin' this when you know I got my good name to be accountable for, on account of these primaries around the corner.

And, let me tell you something, these primaries, they're not cheap fella', they're bleeding me dry! And if you don't have me in the big house well... let me just say it's good for the young proprietor of... what's it called? B and B enterprises? To have friends in high places, well it's good to have someone giving a good word for you when others take a keen eye at your affairs, I can preach to that. But String, I can't do it alone. I know I know, you're mad at me, but I'm a better friend than a foe, and as a friend I need your help so we can make our shared interests come to fruition.

playoffs or no playoffs, we win.

Absolutely, even if we loss both play-in games at home, I still think we had a great season. The most important thing about this season is developing our young guys, especially Barnes and he looks like he could be a 1A as early as next season.
