So Gabe hits a floater after going 0-9 all game and proceeds to go for a stand still 3pt with coverage, lol.

Has trap game written all over it, I remember the last time we thought a B2B important game was in the bag.

Good game all around.
Only complaints:
* Strus was cold in the 2nd half, would like to see him knock down more shots.
* Gabe Vincent trying to shoot his way out of his struggles instead of attacking the rim

Also regarding the Jimmy discussion w our offense. A big issue there is it seems the main time Struss gets significant playing time is when he’s out.
And that part isn’t Jimmy’s fault. We have minutes going to other guys that haven’t played nearly as well even when we’re fully healthy. That one is on Spo

Between COVID and the injuries, and the guys coming back after long injuries, i think it has very much been next man up survival mode versus Spo and his normal season long tinkering.
Some of that is likely the hot hand, but mainly its been Herro, Martin and Gabe off the bench.
I am a huge Strus fan as well, but hard to say Gabe and Martin have not earned time this year. Gabe can play PG and Spo thinks Martin can play sf/pf. It seems obvious why they have gotten time.
If Miami did not have a need to move Duncan, i suspect Strus would have put him on the bench.

Solid game against a vastly inferior team who have talented young players and no cohesion. SGA is one of my favorite young point guards, but his defense tonight was abysmal. I love how he gets to the rim though. I'm glad they figured out how to slow down Tre Mann. That took too long though.
Thanks, OP. By the way, you are in 4th place now, 8-3. Excellent! Go get another banner!!!

We both agree Struss should have Duncan’s minutes it appears. Seems we also agree about the motivations the team has for not benching Duncan.
Martin has earned every minute he’s received. Was not referring to him.
Gabe has been much improved this season, and for times where we need a PG out there, I understand why he would get minutes over Struss. Though I don’t have any justification why we always start him and Lowry at guard if one of our starting wings is out. Doesn’t make sense. Why start a completely undersized backcourt of Lowry/Gabe instead of starting Struss there.
As much as Gabe has improved, Struss is a better player. His scoring efficiency is great (Gabe’s is below average), and he changes the entire dynamic of the game when he comes in w surprising regularity for a role player. And he’s a much improved defender compared to last year.
So that’s two players regularly getting minutes over Struss that shouldn’t be. Duncan and Gabe (unless he’s playing point).

Re: Game 71: OKC @ Miami - 3/18 @ 8:00pm EST
not sure why when we were almost up 30 we didnt try Yurt and Morris. Was good to get a win. One thing that concerns me is in this game everything was falling from deep. We cant always be that hot and eventually we need a stronger 2pt game. Not enough at the rim for my liking. Still was nice to see Lowry and MArtin letting it fly from 3 with no care in the world.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington
