I think the organisation must redefine MVP.

Ironic isnt it? Luka has more case in terms of team success and his cast have similar narrative as Jokic and yet nobody even puts him on the talks and yet Jokic is the favorite somehow ???

This is what happens when you get indulged into advanced stats to the point you forget to watch basketball...

none of this overrides the fact that Doncic was bad for a significant portion of the season.

How many Nuggets games did you watch this season?

Enough to know that Denver has a GOAT bench because they score a bunch of ppg. Which may or may not be influenced by the fact that Denver has had enough blowouts where the starters rest in the fourth and the bench players get, you know, ppg. But let’s disregard the amount of leads they have blown. Heck, you could tell the game against the C’s was over last night when Jokic first went to the bench and the lead swelled to 10. Denver was never coming back from that.

Agree

Jokic has 40 wins
Embiid 39
Giannis 39
Doncic 36

Or are we giving these guys credit when their team wins without them now?

Where is this guy getting his stats from?

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/antetgi01/shooting/2022

He is 35/86 from 16 ft to the 3 point line.

That's 40.7%

Compare that to Jokic (41.5%) and Embiid (44.4%), both have him beat there.

Unless they are counting something like 12 feet as "long mid range"? Or basketball reference is wrong, and random tweeter is right?

Devin Booker - 50 wins

Giannis 29.8/11.5/5.8 with Elite Defense on 63%ts -- 44 team wins

Jokic 26.1/13.6/8.0 with Good Defense on 65%ts -- 43 team wins

Embiid 29.8/11.3/4.3 with Elite Defense on 61%ts -- 43 team wins

Booker 25.9/4.4/4.9 with Solid Defense on 57%ts -- 58 team wins

if Booker didn't score fewer points less efficiently, while also getting fewer rebounds and assists than the top candidates then he'd absolutely be in the discussion

No Harden, no "MVPiid", no problem for the Sixers as they beat the #1 seed Heat.

What a supporting cast Embiid has...

Jokic's team was successfully able to beat the Pacers (bottom 5) and Rockets (dead last) team in the NBA without him.

Embiid's team is beating the Heat...while Sixers are on the on the 2nd night of a B2B...

I don't wanna hear Sixers fans ever complain about their supporting cast

I agree 100% with you and I'm a Bucks fan so inherently biased towards Giannis. But have also said repeatedly my view is Jokic is the MVP. Giannis Second and Embiid third.

I don't enjoy seeing people talk about clutch stats. Surely there is more value in being the 2016 Warriors where they almost never had to play in the fourth quarter because they were so dominant games weren't close. What you do in minute 1 can help you win just as much as what you do in minute 48.

Bookers not even the MVP of his team.

Jokic tends to sub out later in the 3rd quarter than Giannis, and subs in later in the 4th.

U are right. Maxey may be the the next star. And he’s being held back by embiid. He beat a red hot Memphis team also without embiid. Memphis probably the 3 or 4th best team in the nba. And Maxey matched Ja point for point in that game.
