Miami can write this type of loss off as **** happens. Lot of things have to go wrong for the Heat to lose this, and they did.

Lol. 76ers tried to tank this one. They want the third seed.

How do you give up 113 to that bench?

Herro had a trash game. He would have put them over the top if he played up to standard.

lol It's one game. Also Philly tried to tank to avoid BKN and their bench ruined it. I think it's hilarious

Bench PPG is such a weak argument to assess the quality of a team's bench. Our bench PPG would be higher if we had a dedicated bench scorer like other teams do, but we don't because it would be inferior to just staggering our starters and letting them pick up additional usage when Joel is out.
The Sixers also play their starters the 2nd most of any team in the NBA which is another reason their bench PPG is going to be so low.

Your bench may be bad, but Harris, Thybulle and Maxey are capable of being stars on any night. That's the "supporting cast" I'm referring to, not specifically your bench.
If your 3 other starters are able to carry that "trash bench", then they're clearly also helping inflate the MVP chances of Embiid.
Was the game tonight not more fun for you to watch without seeing Harden/Embiid shoot 30+ FTA?
Thybulle is a great defender, but he is not a great offensive player. (Sure you watch our games?)
Harris is okay. Eats up a fair chunk of our cap but plays like 15m PER player.
Just glad we never included Maxey in the trade. A big positive.
The players player loose tonight.

I think Embiid leads the league in clutch pts this year, but hate away.

Yeah they played great. Harden seems to disrupt the toughness and chemistry of the Philly role players. I think it's a chemistry issue from being so new, give them until playoffs to work it out. Role players need to play hard even with Harden/Embiid in.

It was a back to back, and they have the upcoming West road trip - in LA is a couple of days. I don’t think they were tanking, but finishing 2nd or 3rd at this stage doesn’t really matter and why risk a fatigue-connected injury approaching the playoffs. The smart thing to do.

Where are those posters who had 20%FG Cole Anthony ahead of Maxey?

Doc has always coached these hodgepodge lineups and rosters much better than the star studded ones.. its so odd

Great win, Sixers fans! Your squad looked great, ball was moving really well (26 assists tonight, 3 more than their average), only 14 free throw attempts, it was actually a fun game to watch.
I was there. The difference between the iso-ball that Harden and Embiid played last night against Toronto and tonight's game was, as you called it, BALL MOVEMENT.
If some of the reporting out of Brooklyn is true, one of the biggest problems is Nash and KD wanted a ball movement offense, and Harden wanted iso-ball. Something to watch with the SIxers...because when they move the ball, they are a pretty good team.

Re: Sixers beat the Heat with no Harden/Embiid, on 2nd night of B2B
The Sixers supporting cast **** sucks, what are you talking about?
Maxey is the only one who is a good scorer, Niang on a good day as well, Thybulle and Green are the only good defenders and they don't contribute much offensively, there is no effective rebounder (say Deandre Jordan is I dare you). Harris is profoundly okay.
But yeah drop Embiid and Harden for the playoffs, it's clear Shake Milton and Furkan Forkmaz will drop 40 combined off the bench again as long as they aren't being held back.

Just enough to post that. Highly doubt he cares about this loss beyond that; like most of us heat fans.

Did sixers say they were trying to lose? Confused to where this thinking is coming from? It was a back to back game and there's like 3 weeks left.

The ball movement was really good for the first couple of games Harden played, but then it has turned to iso again.
Even though we were hot garbage a half decade back, I do miss that Philly working class attitude on the court with TJ and Covington (my handle).
