A Post and Pre 1980 duos draft. Must pick two players at a time but one must be Post 1980 season and the other Pre 1980 season and only one can be Allnba each duo.

I like this and I really like the pairs/duo draft

Current draft also brought me the idea of a top 10 only draft. Or maybe top 5. Might be somewhat more challenging to find the right role players

Do a 90s-only duo draft

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
OK I got one. We should do a post-merger draft with a cap of 80 FGA instead of 88. HOWEVER all players to average 17 FGA or more only count as 17 FGA. This promotes drafting higher FGA players like Dominique, Gervin etc without being handicapped by their FGA share. Would also have some interesting effects on player value as a whole.
17 FGA was a rough estimate of what I think would work, but that could obviously be changed as we see fit. Thoughts?

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
Head to tail draft. You can only choose a player whose name starts with the last letter of your previous pick.
For example, if you took George Yardley, you can only pick players whose name starts with Y, for example Yi Jianlian.
Somewhat challenging and hard to plan draft where you can also mess with other players' plans. But sounds interesting.

I like this idea.
A cleaner way would be the first letter of the last name needs to be the first letter of the first name.

A 3 degrees of separation draft where you need to draft a player who played at minimum 1 game with your previous pick

We've done a couple of variations on that theme before. Heck, I think we even called it that.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
what about a draft that goes:
Pick 1: Drafted 6-10
Pick 2: 2nd round
Pick 3: Drafted 11-20
Pick 4: Drafted 21-30
Pick 5: Drafted 6-60
Pick 6: #4 or 5 draft pick
Pick 7: #2 or #3 draft pick
Pick 8: a Number 1 pick
Pick 1: Drafted 6-10
Pick 2: 2nd round
Pick 3: Drafted 11-20
Pick 4: Drafted 21-30
Pick 5: Drafted 6-60
Pick 6: #4 or 5 draft pick
Pick 7: #2 or #3 draft pick
Pick 8: a Number 1 pick

This is cool but I feel like there is this group-think that happens where we have a draft with a theme and then everyone comes in here with their own ideas around the same theme. I dont know about you but I don't want to use the same theme for multiple drafts in a row.

How about a draft where you can't pick a season in the decade the player reached his peak (defined as most win shares).
For example, Wade's peak season was 2009 (most win shares). So you couldn't select a season in that decade (2000-2009). It would have varying impacts on different players.

Think this would be best limited to your All-Star/All-NBA players only.

Re: FUTURE DRAFT GAMES - NEW THREAD 2/21/22
everyone get randomly assigned 2 letter and they have to draft a player whose last or first name starts with that letter.
Dump the least used letter in NBA names
If used 24 letters then 12 player would have 2 letters each to choose from.
20 letter 10 players

And simply use highest accolade, though I think we did that before?

That could get tricky with guys who had their highest accolades multiple times in different decades.

Listen, we gotta do this one. I'm doing it in some Facebook group and the strategic planning here is crazy. I'd do it with no FGA limit

I think something like a 18-20 fga cap in all games is worth considering. We went to a minimum of 3, so why not a max? I realize fga's is how how we price players, but it makes guys like TMac or maybe Vince tough to draft at their best, and some other players' best seasons can't really be considered.
