They have 2 of the biggest floppers/rule abusers who also consistently come up short late. Harden getting 50 million a year will be high comedy

Philly fans said to us that we were in a "honeymoon" phase with Ben. I told them that it goes both ways here and they are in the honeymoon phase with Harden. They scoffed.

Now you're seeing posts like this:

It's clear to me that Harden isn't the player he was 3 years ago. This team is in a tough spot. No athleticism. No depth. A star on the decline with a 2 year window. Giving Harden a max contract is going to sink this team for the length of that deal.

We tried to warn them but they were high off the hog from beating the Knicks twice

That crossover was nothing special, just that Taj Gibson fell over so it became a highlight.
I seriously doubt there is a guard in the NBA that would fall over from that particular crossover.
The bigger they are (Taj 6'9" 232lbs), the harder they fall.

I guess it was reported brown and horford were vaccinated but now its being contested if brown is vaccinated or not with rumors that he may have faked his vaccination or done something shady like aaron rogers. Saltics fans bashing kyrie and their guys is going full aaron rogers mode.

I'm like 90% certain that Jaylen Brown is not vaccinated.

Well well well....look at how the tables have turned.

This also means Harden tanked half our season and forced a trade to a team that could experience similar vaccine mandate issues with Philadelphia while Kyrie and NY athletes got cleared.

Man... I thought right after the trade and a bit slimmed down Harden would return to MVP form but man... he looks pretty mediocre these days. He has that Deron Williams body language after Deron lost his quickness.

His assists are up and his efficiency isn't bad but man his shot has been terrible and he cant seem to get by that first defender like he was (i mean he is still doing it, but it used to be automatic, now its like sometimes 2-3 tries and even more dribbling)

with Philly: 21 points on 39/33/88

The biggest thing is his three. 33% on 7 attempts a game is rough and its really worse cause he gets some bail out fouls on the step back, Teams are starting to just let him take the step back... and hes missing.

Airball 3 in crunchtime last night on the step back. alot of that lately.

I see no way philly doesnt give him his max... that has John wall written all over it

The only mistake Marks made was not acting on this trade sooner to obtain Tyrese Halliburton from Sacto in a flip for Simmons. Otherwise, I'm trading Harden 10 out of 10 times. He did us a huge favor by quitting and forcing his way out.

He will be the worst contract in the league.

His efficiency is overrated, because while getting fouled & getting free throws doesn't count as a shot attempt, it's still ending your team's possession. There really should be some kind of metric where you compare points scored to number of last touches of a possession (FGA+FTA+TOs).

I think the only thing we can nitpick about is whether Marks could have squeezed them for another pick. Based on an interview Morey did after, it sounded like we probably could have. That being said, it was deadline day & we couldn't run the risk of not moving him.

it also doesnt capture how damaging hardens misses are... when he misses its almost always numbers the other way... either a missed layup with no call where he argues or a missed 3 with a long rebound the other way,

he misses 2/3 of his shots and turns it over 5 times a game. he is giving up like 15 transitions points on his own

Agreed that we escaped only somewhat damaged, but I'd argue that the 'only' mistake Marks made was trading for Harden in the first place.

Like-- HOU was *already* in a complete bind, yet the Nets somehow got in to an extreme bidding war with a guy that the HOU owner didn't even want to deal with anyway (Morey).

What's up with THAT, honestly?

Caris & Dwid unfortunately probably had to move on no matter what, but giving away Fro & the extra picks has been a real killer for us IMO, and we've been directly seeing how it plays out this season.

Watching the Cavs-Hawks game and rooting for the Cavs (I'm sure most would know why lol), but it's kinda crazy watching them playing a very similar switch heavy defense to ours. And the end result has been more or less the same. Without a KD-Kyrie duo to go ballistic on the other end it isn't looking good for them.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
