Theres enough time for it to swing. The Monday matchup will have MASSIVE implications like that Lakers VS Hornets game in 08 for the Kobe VS Cp3 Mvp narrative

Yeah. I think Jokic is big enough to bother Embiid, and while the reverse is true, it shouldn't really affect Jokic's facilitating (or his ridiculous jumpers) that much...

I just hope JOkic crushes Embiid. I love the later, but we need Jokic to win another MVP.

He's mind boggling good. When I watch him play, I genuinely feel bad for Embiid. It'd be like if Kobe was an exact contemporary of Jordan.

By any reasonable standard Embiid is an ATG big but compared to Jokic

in fairness embiid is not worse in defense than jokic (probably better on average) where jordan was a better defender than kobe too

if kobe had been a better defender than jordan he would have a solid argument to be almost in his level

being almost in jokic level but a bit below is exactly where i would put embiid

I have an unpopular take on Kobe/MJ. I think the only thing that separated the two was athletic ability.
Yikes.

I think he was being sarcastic / ironic there.

Them (almost) solely being seperated by athletic ability is a take as cold as the North Pole.

I know the question was kinda vague but at this point I'm sure he doesn't care about winning a second one vs. winning a title. Especially with his 2 best teammates being injured this long, the effort put in to winning any game is so high.

As an aside, it's awesome to see bones taking a leap as an impact player in his rookie year. Cousins has bolstered their bench too.

for 99% of players id agree but Nikola seems an exception. I mean one of if not the main criticism over the years was him not being assertive and taking over scoring of games when he easily had the talent and skill to do it which hes shown more and more. I think hes one of the few who couldnt give a **** less about stats or accolades

Jokic might be the only player on a list of all-time level offensive greats who underestimates his own capabilities to this extent. Despite two MVP-level seasons, I'm not sure whether he even knows how great he is.

& the Nugget are still a top 7 offense w/o their 2 best players is a testament to Jokic. Unlike Embiid..76ers are ranked 13 offense...

This is why the focus on stats is so misguided

If for some reason, 20% of Jokic's assists weren't counted as such, he would still be 100% as good as he is today

This guy nearly ruined Tatum's career by drilling him into taking horribly inefficient mid-range fadeaways.

There is this culture in basketball where the more difficult the shot, the greater the appreciation for your skill and how "deep your bag is". This is rather counter to common sense that says you should get the best shot possible. Kobe was the flag-bearer for a lot of this but these IG trainers have taken it to a new level.

I mean, I've been quite vocal that assist numbers don't mean anything for years. That said, anyone still questioning Jokic's playmaking ability should change the sport at this point.

Jokic is one of the smartest, most skilled players ever. You know I'm hesitant using such words, but I'm fairly confident in this case.

Surprising absolutely nobody, he's Embiid's coach.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

And perhaps unintentionally, this trainer reveals a big reason why Jokic makes his team so much better. In the vid, he highlights dribble hand-off plays to show that he isn't making a lot of plays as people think. But it's precisely that he never holds onto the ball and goes for quick dribble hand-offs that gets the defense moving so much and makes his team so difficult to guard. These simple plays create a lot more openings for the offense than a guy pounding the ball and trying to do it all himself - which is probably an approach that this dumb trainer probably favors.
