The Jets are better off missing out. I would not give up that many picks for a WR. Elite QB, OL, or EDGE? Sure. WR or RB? No way.

Jets trying to do work. I just want my giants to get one of the top 2 OL and I’m good with anything else at 7.

Can't wait until the Draft!!
I definitely think that Tyrod can beat out Danny in camp, but the dude just can't stay healthy.
And yes, Schoen is doing a solid job with rebuilding the offensive line. Really good depth pick ups so far. I'm interested to see where we go with those two 1st rounders. I say OL/EDGE
I really think Wink is going to push for a DB over an EDGE in round 1.
So you think we go with Stingley Jr at 7 then? I mean i wouldn't be upset but I value EDGE more than DBs so I'm biased.

Frankly, if Thibodeaux is there for y'all at 5, I feel like you have to take him. He's just too talented to not gamble on
Then honestly, same with Hamilton and 7. Would be a hell of an upside draft if you got those 2, or one of Neal/Ickey/Cross if you want O Line at 7
Stingley's a high upside pick at CB, too. Just concerns about his health and his play kind of dropping off after his freshman year.

If the Jets are crazy enough to let Thibodeaux drop to us, I would snatch him up at 5 and go with Neal or Cross at 7. You figure one would have to be there regardless of what Carolina does unless someone trades up. That would be absolutely beautiful

the talent is there for Thibodeaux but getting a lot of feeling he doesn't love football. He has a lot of other things going for him as well. But a lot of red flags about his desire but no questions about his talent.
Its why you have seen a lot of stuff about Travon Walker jumping him on big boards.

I think a lot of that is pretty overblown
Like, it's enough for me to put Hutchinson above him because in terms of talent, they're pretty similar, but I don't really think it's bad enough to drop him below Walker in terms of pass rushers.

potentially but some thing for sure add up. College he had some questions. Then the combine stuff where he left early.
I mean we only have videos and stuff in front of us. The teams have the interviews to get a sense on the player.
Walker absolutely killed his combine and there are some that think because Georgia is so talented he stats were suppressed. We shall see.
But I'm hoping for Ickey or Neal the most. I'm tired of not have an offensive line...nothing keeps a team from winning like a poor offensive line.

I mean, kind of
He should've had more opportunities for one on ones because his teammates would be double-teamed, like the Aaron Donald effect
And when you watch him on tape, you can see he really doesn't have any moves, he just kind of out-athletes guys, which works much less as you get to the NFL
I think his comp is Montez Sweat.

there is some truth to that. But he also almost never lined up outside the tackle at Georgia which really limits what you can do in terms of bending the edge. Kinda that jermaine johnson effect where he had to transfer from Georgia to break out at FSU. Some think that could be Walker in the NFL. Daniel Jeremiah loves him and he's one of the most trust worthy talent evaluators.

Re: OT: Official Giants Thread
Here's a good piece from today regarding Wink's philosophy in the EDGE vs CB debate:
https://www.bigblueview.com/2022/3/24/22992378/making-the-case-edge-or-cornerback-more-important-for-giants-wink-martindale
welp...looks like either Sauce or Stingley Jr. at #7. I can't argue Wink's logic here, but I guess I'm too married to the days of when we had an elite level edge rushing attack when the league has changed since then.
https://www.bigblueview.com/2022/3/24/22992378/making-the-case-edge-or-cornerback-more-important-for-giants-wink-martindale
Martindale runs more man coverage than Graham. The former Ravens defensive coordinator relied heavily on his cornerbacks ability to execute man coverage assignments long enough for pressure to get home. The pressure and the coverage are married. This begs the question, are cornerbacks or edge defenders more important in Martindale’s scheme?
Martindale answered this question in an interview.
“I want as many cover corners as you can have, ‘cause the game is the passing game now ... Talking philosophically now, this is my opinion on it. I think sacks is one of the most superficial rankings there is ... when you look at sacks, there’s a lot of things that go into that ... my philosophy is - personally - I’d rather have a corner that could cover, then I guy that could rush. I’ll get guys to hit quarterbacks; that’s our job as a staff.”

Re: OT: Official Giants Thread
I want the Jets to take Thibodeaux. Yall Gmen fans can have one of the DB's or Hamilton. Jets got Edge and WR left as the biggest needs, so KT 4 and a WR 10 makes sense to me. Or trade 10 back, get Linderbaum and then either trade up or use the high second round pick on the WR part.
I would have been cool with locking up Hill, but this means cap space and more picked. We've got more than enough needs to cover.

Yeah I think its trending that if Thibs and Gardner are there at 7. I think the Giants go Sauce.
I think 5 unless both Ickey and Neal are gone will be a tackle.

I just can't justify a safety that high. We already have a really good one too.
Schoen specifically mentioned not going need but also factoring in positional value...safety has horrible positional value. Like RB.

Hamilton is really good but I hear you. I would rather OT, DE, and Corner. We need to get to QB, protect QB, and a lock Down corner for Wink defense.
