He's been being used badly - as I pointed out with stats about 10 weeks ago - and even so is providing the only grown-up but not over-the-hill play on the team. Obviously his defence is, was and always will be crap, but everyone always knew that. You take the -s with the +s if you have him on the roster.
Even though Burks is a SG who can fill in at PG, and Fournier is a SG who can see some time at SF, I still stand by trade one, and really, it should be Burks.
Knicks should trade or draft a point, which makes Burks expendable and get Fournier into a 6th man role where he gets 28-30 minutes a game.
And ... we're back to the Brunson trade. With the double Sign-and-trade with Mitch and then a boat load of salary needs to be added on each side under the CBA .. so it looks something like:
Brunson, Bertans, Burke for Robinson, Burks, Reddish, Kemba and Mavs 2023 pick. Knicks could ask for Dwight Powell and two of Frank, Boban and Chriss instead of Bertans, but that means giving up more draft picks.
Does it have to be a double if Mitch gets 15 million per? Mitch and one player for Brunson and filler. And Knicks send a pick.
