Sucks to be wasting these back to back 60 point games. Hope to play some meaningful games next year!

F that. Imagine if our trade pushed through, remember that oneROballer wrote:tugs wrote:Best of luck everyone!

What can I say? Terrible year for me, I really tried balancing the youth movement with trying to win as well(see the Kuminga trade).
Didn't work out at all, I stashed too many players while injuries and Covid ravaged some of my weeks.
With my punting strategies, I really can't afford to lose big at any time.
A lot needs to happen for my team to be competitive next year(I really need 4-5 guys to switch teams), but I'll start with the mindset of going all out for the win even though my team is still young as heck. My young guys should be better as well with a plus year under their belt.
At least I wound up with a couple of guys who I think will be very solid for fantasy purposes down the line, from the wire.
Jalen Smith and Trendon Watford. Better than nothing.

Welp that's a wrap for my season, GG Ty!
Not super thrilled with how it ended
Definitely did not think Isaac would be out a whole nother year, had some key injuries right before the playoffs started, some guys just flat out forgetting how to shoot apparently, and my late season streams being mostly duds.
As usual, the shop is open for business, shoot me a PM if you want to talk trade and I'll definitely be reaching out at some point to some of y'all so keep an eye out for those PMs!
Also, if you could update my picks Ty or KJG - I have Tylerslakers 2022 1st and the 2022 2nd from Optms is his from the Horford/Robinson for PWill trade last summer.
I'm not posting a pic of JI like I did last year, think that jinxed me

If it makes you feel better, Wall sat down the year as well.
But the real winning move from the trade has been Haliburton for me.
I don't even care much for Wall anymore considering what Hali has become.

I would if I could, but you need mod powers to edit other people's posts.

Congratulations on your win Ty!
Lakersgm24 didn't set his lineups for the playoffs or several previous weeks which impacted standings, so we should discuss booting him for inactivity. He hasn't been active on RealGM forums since Feb 15th either.

Yes please! Or you could just not set your lineups like Lakersgm24.

Tugs defeated me twice during the regular season, but the last matchup was a close 4-5, so there's a chance for an upset!

I concur with the booting.
He's just not around like the rest of us. You don't see coach bdj around much either but you know he's a master lurker. He always replied quickly when I sent him a PM.
This other guy didn't. Hasn't read a message in months. He was somewhat active last year but he's gone full awol this year.
Earl didn't give a **** either this year and we all know the problems we had with TylersLakers.
It's getting harder and harder to find some new guys who are active apparently, so I'm still down to the contraction proposal I make every year.
10 teams is more than enough, considering we have 20 man rosters now.
It would be more fair with the scheduling as well, since it would mean we automatically would play twice against every team in the league.
I ended up tanking the last few weeks of the season and it didn't matter in the end....but it's not really fair I got to play Optms only once when all of the league ragdolled his ass 7-2/8-1 twice.
This happens every year and it impacts the standings tremendously.
It's fair we all have the same schedule. Twice against every dude. I think everybody can agree with this.
You can't account for guys not setting up lineups or injuries happening but the scheduling needs to be adressed. And with the current league format, playing twice against everybody only works in a 10 team league.
Contract two inactive teams, I think a two round Snake draft should be enough.
Get 20 players out of 40 on our teams, rest can hit the already thin FA pool.
Then we can go ahead with our regular rookie draft.

Difficult to be competitive with the injuries and the wire barren with talent. For sure extra challenging but man, you can only do so much. Great to have those inactive players from other teams playing for our teams, right? But whatever is the pleasure of the group, I'm in

I think that is the nicest thing RO has ever said about me.
I'm not sure what everyone will decide about the inactive teams (new GM's or reducing the league), but have we ever considered making this an 8 player keeper league? I know it goes away from the Dynasty side, but with the uncertainty of the GM's, maybe have everyone select 8 players everyone else is thrown back into the draft. Might make for an interesting draft and trades?
Just a thought.

It's interesting, especially with expanded rosters, but I do feel we should reach out to them first to see what the situation is like. I prefer traditional dynasty over keeper tbh

Yeah, Dynasty as well in my mind. We already have a hard time doing a regular two round rookie draft, redrafting 12 players every year I don't think it's a go. Not to mention I've invested a lot in some guys(stashes) just to possibly losing them like nothing? No thanks..
You can reach out if you want, but I don't think you'll find any resolution. The last time Ty had to fly in insfo from the Heat board to take a team. That was a succes since insfo is one of the guys I have the most conversations with.
But other than that it has been a disaster, lots of one and done's or guys who simply went AWOL. And this board is pretty much dead, I don't think you can find another user to take a team if your life depended of it.
If guys don't want their teams anymore, just make it a 10 team league.
I mean, is there a single con to this? I'm waiting for an answer.. We can keep the exact same playoff format, there will be 4 lottery teams instead of 6. Everything stays exactly the same
Pros:
-we get 2-3 better players than our scrubs each. 20 man league. DUH.
-waiver wire gets a huge boost
-scheduling is finally fair. We get to play two times against eachother ALL OF US. Also because it's 10 teams, that would mean an 18 week RS.
That means we're starting the playoffs earlier, which is also a huge bonus. The latter part of the fantasy playoffs has always coincided with the final 10 games of the RS in the real NBA, meaning a LOT of our guys are rested and random scrubs are playing on any given night. Lots of championships were skewed because of this, on the top of my head I remember the one Gus McRae won.
The guy literally gutted his whole roster for scrubs who were clearly good for those 2-3 weeks at the end of the year. He dropped guys who were clear keepers for the next years left and right, acting like it's a regular fantasy league and not a dynasty one.
And of course he bolted right after the season and left his mess to somebody else.

Might as well. You don't have to worry about me, if we do this I'm surely picking 10th with my luck.
Thinking of it, I think I'd rather pick 10 and 11 anyway rather than 1 and 20 if it's a snake draft.

Obviously new here, but prefer to keep things as is. Yeah, I'm sure I sound crazy for not wanting a better FA/draft pool, but I've been enjoying that "moneyball" aspect of team building.
