DK is overrated. Good WR and all but he’s really not the top 5-7 WR that fantasy drafts make him out to be. He’s still just a college version of himself, in my opinion he is similar to a Ben Simmons of football. I’d pass unless non 1st round picks were going out instead.

So a guy that overcame a broken neck is the same as Ben Simmons? Comparing a bottom of the 2nd round pick that has made it big to a silver spoon #1 overall? I don’t see it.
He’s been great. Seattle’s offensive line sucks and they haven’t been able to get him the ball. He’s awesome though.

Fwiw DK dealt with a leg injury for a good chunk of the season. He postponed having surgery until after the season.

Also keep in mind that Wilson was injured last year & wasn't quite the same. Geno Smith was the starter for a month.

A healthy Metcalf for most of 2020 was pretty dominant.

If I was Gutekunst, I would buy low now. Because if you pair him with Aaron he'll be a top 3 receiver next year. Easy.

Lol I actually don't want them to deal him. Unless it's a crazy good offer. Like a top 5 pick. A late first round pick is too much of gamble to me. I want a sure thing. But hey...everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

But I've also seen them whiff too many times picking in the back half of the round lol.

Only way I'm trading a first for DK is if he signs a 5 year team friendly extension.

I'm guessing with the money being handed to wide receivers (thanks Jacksonville) that won't happen so I will pass.

This makes sense especially when you look at when he bought that house in Vegas. He must have be reasonably confident that trade was going to go through about 4 weeks before any of us caught wind of it.

I'm a hard no on DK. Lots of concerns with how that guy will age, what his next contract will look like, and frankly I'd rather just trade for Chase Claypool and sign Will Fuller and get likely more production out of what would be less cost per year when you factor in any extension for DK.

I am intrigued by Lockett though because I feel like his route running would be a huge hit with Rodgers and I would guess he could come much cheaper or even be part of a Jordan Love type trade.

Metcalf reminds me too much of David Boston from body type to play style and that would worry me about trading any high picks for him. Hopefully DK is more successful than Boston at their similar ages.

I know I've said this before and I won't repeat myself too often, but my attitude about vet WR's is pretty firm: other than drafting a few WR's and some shot-in-the-dark acquisitions, invest elsewhere on the team and let Rodgers earn his $50m by making guys look better than they really are.

Unfortunately, I fear that he has gotten a lot more help from his supporting cast and the scheme than many observers realize (see YAC and drops compared to his physical prime years, for example), and I think he will struggle to put up MVP numbers without a great wideout. But my point is that they have placed their bet on him and if they really believe he's still that guy, then they should be investing in other areas because you shouldn't need too many established pro-bowler types at the skill positions if you have a top-5 QB; playing with a top-5 QB should be what makes a lot of WR's pro-bowlers in the first place. I look forward to seeing whether Rodgers is really that guy now.

I too like Locketts fit. The $31mil in dead cap hit would make it awful hard for Seattle to trade him. Maybe there's some cap magic that could reduce that and make it possible?

I guess Parker would be a consolation prize now that it's presumed Landry stays with Cleveland since Watson wound up there. I know it's not exactly the assertion, but just to make it plain and clear - in no way, shape, or form should we (or anyone) give up a top 60 pick for Parker. Not top 90 or maybe 120, either. I would be down with trading a 5th, but I don't think I go higher. Acknowledging he hasn't played with any sort of QB talent in his career, it doesn't change the fact that he's still had exactly one productive season. His value doesn't go up because of what happened three seasons ago. We don't really know what he has right now.

DK is so underrated in all aspects of the game. People see him as this big dude who can only run 1 or 2 routes. He can do everything well....but again giving up those picks for him is not worth it for a team that is already struggling with cap and needs to learn how to fit Jaire and Jenkins under the cap next year.

Maybe Love straight up for DK would work? I just don't see it happening at all.

DeVante Parker would be ideal if you can use a later round pick or Will Fuller if he will sign a 1 or 2 year team friendly deal.

Good. He's a very willing blocker. Not many people are going to body him up. That's definitely a part of his game.

You might be right about Lockett being a better fit. But the route running thing with Metcalf has been overblown since day one. He's able to create separation just with his quickness & acceleration alone.

Honestly, If you pair him with Rodgers, you're looking at Megatron 2.0. He's good. But he can get even better.

Giving up a 1st for DK who signs an extension for 4 years/77 mil with 38 mil guaranteed (or something close to this).......yes no brainer.

Giving up a 1st for 1 year of DK where we might have to franchise him or lose him for nothing because we now have to focus on Jaire/Jenkins? I don't think that is a good idea.

Maybe. I think there's plenty of receiver help that can be found in that range, personally.

There's also his contract coming up. Dk is going to need an extension when we are going to need space for Jaire, Jenkins, and Gary coming up. They won't be cheap and finding financial flexibility at a position might play a factor.
