Victor Wembanyama is going to be a major problem

Post#1 » by SUPERVILLAIN » Thu Mar 24, 2022 12:49 pm

This kid has a sky high potential. What he is doing in a professional league at such young age is seriously outstanding. Very impressive!

Psychotic. It didn’t make sense. I don’t know how you make it make sense

Thats what she said. Also - you still got it wrong even though it's not that hard.

I think I posted a year ago - maybe more - in the draft board: "the next Kareem Abdul-Jabbar." Of course, I'm not counting on him having that kind of career - a lot of luck goes into that level of success - but I thought it wasn't too hyperbolic in terms of what kind of prospect he is. If he's (basketball) intelligent, high-character, and stays healthy, then I don't see any limits for him.

I don't think so. Bol Bol is a really poor athlete and got hyped because he was a 7'2 guy with some basic perimeter skills. Victor Wembanyama is one of the most athletic over 7 footers we've seen.

If Mike Schmitz says its the best prospect he's ever evaluated then that says a lot. Mike's the best in the business (along with Givony).

I highly doubt that. Scouts have been hyping him up for years.

When I see the kid play I don't see the fantastic mobility people rave about when they evaluate him as a prospect.

Yeah, he's 7'3" but he still looks like he's moving in slow motion to me.

Don't know about a unicorn, he reminds me more of a special hybrid of Sun Mingming and Slavko Vranes.

He sucks. This should be on NBA Draft board anyway.

He looks super slow and awkward in that highlight video. It seems like he has 0 coordination. What am I missing?

He outplayed Chet in the FIBA U19 championship game and was very impressive. I think you're inherently going to look awkward with that frame regardless of how skilled you are. But yeah, watching full games of his are better than highlights I'd say.
