Re: 2022 NBA Draft Part II
I have been very critical on K the past few years on here. But I will give the man his credit when credit is due.
Taking Keels out of the starting lineup and implementing Roach into the starting lineup to start the tournament was a fantastic move. The adjustment to zone tonight really saved Duke. Also the last two games probably had more sets run and more off ball movement than the entire rest of the season combined.
Also I've been very high and low on Paolo throughout the year. But he's been great all tourney. His ability to create off the dribble for himself or others has been great.
Also getting kind of worried Roach may play himself into the draft this year. Wouldn't be the first time a front office gets too excited and swept up in the March Madness.

Roach declaring this year means Duke is toast next year. Not one damn point guard on the roster. Roach must have remembered this week that he was a 5 star recruit.
But regardless, Scheyer need to land a transfer PG because the ball isn't going to pass itself to the triple towers.

Most likely screwed, but they do have Blake's who was a 4 star recruit this year who will be there next year. The job should be pretty simple when you're playing alongside Lively, Fillipowski, Whitehead, and Mitchell. But ya if Roach goes then a transfer would be the ideal scenario.
Still don't think Roach will go, he hasn't been good all year. But ya wouldn't be shocked if he has a few more games like this, some front office will fall for the March Madness hype.

Great game tonight. Was really impressed by Paolo's passing. There's some passing acumen to be uncovered there for him. He has a chance to be an elite playmaker one day imo. Props to coach K tonight also. That zone really saved them tonight

That was rough. Houston is incredibly seasoned and tough.
Depending on your timing of watching Koloko he can really wow you or sour you.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Part II
So has Tevor Keels finally slipped out of the 1st round?
On the season just an 11/3/3 average on 41/32/68 shooting.
His last 9 games just 9/2/2 on 40/28/73 shooting and got benched to start the tournament and only got 14 minutes tonight. What exactly are you drafting him on?

Houston was Kenpom #2 heading into the tourney. They were making some of our dudes who looked like stars in the P12 (Tubelis and Kerr) look completely unplayable. I keep coming away impressed with Terry who’s the scrawniest kid on the floor but met the challenge. He was better than Mathurin.

Ya that was a criminal under seeding for Houston. I want nothing to do with that team. That is a team filled with grown men, they have so many 5th year seniors its crazy and they play like grown men. Ya no thank you as a Duke fan.

hard to overstate that game from Paolo, has to be his best all season

Terry just looks better and better. Mathurin in all of Arizona's losses has been somewhat in hiding when he was needed most. Food for thought.

I’m seeing Smith, Holmgren, Banchero, Ivey and Mathurin as my top 5 right now.

On top of this, his playmaking is looking good and should translate with more spacing at the next level.
Chris Webber vibes?

Don't you think Keels might have a similar path to the NBA as Maxey?
I mean, by what I've read from you guys he didn't have a good season. So, he will go through the draft process somewhat undervalued, and might be underdrafted too.
Any thoughts?

I mean, the process might be kinda similar, but as players he's got very little in common with Maxey.
Keels as of now is a hope to get Lu Dort, but that feels pretty optimistic.

Agree with everyone talking up Banchero's passing last night. It felt like he made something happen every time he decided to create. Great tourney for him so far.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Part II
The Webber passing comps are a good call re Banchero. His jumper looks workable too. If he can guard at the next level, he is going to be a great player.
I still like him as the type that starts at PF and gets like 12mpg there and another 20 playing as backup C. I think that minimizes any defensive issues.
Chet looked like a kid last night. Seemed gassed, unprepared and was pushed around a ton. Still, he has insane physical tools and I love his shot mechanics, just needs to get more consistent (To me his form is far better than Paolo, think he can be a high volume 3PT guy and dont see Paolo as more than a 1 make per type)

Pretty different players. I think the similarities begin and end with them struggling from 3. But with that at least Maxey was an 83% FT shooter. Keels is at 68% on the year.
It also really doesn't help that except for the opening game, Duke has looked like the much better player the smaller the role Keels has. And now to end the year they take him out of the lineup and he only gets 14 minutes last game.
I think the better hope is for him to be like Dort. But with that Dort was the much better defensive player.

Maxey was a top 10 talent no idea why he fell especially in that class
