I've never understood why the Hawks don't use Capela and Okongwu together when Collins is hurt. Their main issue is defense and I guarantee you their defense with this lineup would get immensely better.

It might be because Gallinari is a true stretch 4. He has 23 points and is plus 22 for the game right now. Okongwu and Capella would be dreadful long term together. They are pretty much the same type of player; except Okongwu does shoot free throws well for a big man.

I understand it's not the ideal fit but Gallo can't play 48 minutes. I feel Okongwu can use the extra minutes rather than wasting them on a scrub like TLC. It's just something to try for a team that is dreadful defensively.

Going big has helped the Raptors even when most of the guys cant shoot 3s. Okongwu is agile enough to hang with most 4s and they can just try to dominate teams in the paint.

You nailed it and their are quite a few Hawks fans that have blasted Nate for a minute now because he refuses to play them even a little bit together. He is also getting blasted for not letting Jalen Johnson get almost any minutes the entire season. He finally got to play some minutes last night for the 1st time all season and he showed he was no worse defensively than the majority of our team. But he was very good on the boards and some solid offense that others weren't getting at times. To me if Gallo is out at all then Okongwu and Johnson should be splitting those minutes and onyeka also getting some minutes at center along with Johnson at 4 when capela needs a breather.

Hawks curbstomped the Dubs tonight. We were without Collins and Bogi so no Dubs fan can cry about Curry. Loved watching the best guard in the NBA Trae Young go off for another great game. 33 points/15 assists/2 steals on sizzling shooting numbers.

Losing Collins and Bogdanovic is in no way, shape or form comparable to being without Steph Curry.

Don't get me wrong, you can only play who's in front of you. But don't act like this is two teams meeting on equal footing.

I think it is a silly take because there has never been any indication that Embiid is a "stat-padding" kind of guy. Dude wants to win a championship, first and foremost. He knows that is the best way to ensure his place in the game. To be able to "load-manage: the guy through low minute games like last night is excellent.

Nate is too stubborn... amd for a supposedly defensive minded coach he refuses to play big particularly when we need defense and getting outrebounded.

I think a lot of Hawks fans are overreacting. What the Hawks did last season was a big time overachieve. No one expected them to make the ECF. Tou probably could have got 25 to 1 at the start of the season on that happening.

Now everyone is pissing and moaning about a play in possibility. Okongwu has no business taking away Gallinari's minutes right now. Capela, Collins, Gallinari is our primary big man rotation. It was last season when they overachieved. It still is this season as they fight to make the play in.
