^^^ Mercilus is maybe the only one that interests me. The others should be replaceable.
King gets a rap here (and everywhere it seems). I think injuries robbed him of any real hope of success. The chronic shoulder injury led to a bunch of poor tackling to protect that bum shoulder, and somewhere along the way his speed left him too. Remember the fumble recovery against the Panthers? King had a running start and a clear lane in the right direction, and was still caught from behind by two Panthers playing catchup. Was that loss of both burst and sustained speed part of why he most often seemed to play waaaay off of the receivers he covered?

Mercilus and Kelly I'd like back for some veteran depth on minimums. Going all in probably means filling the end of the depth chart with vets instead of developing rooks/2nd year guys, or atleast at key positions.
I feel for king I hope he can stay healthy and get a 2nd shot somewhere, but some players just ain't built for such a violent sport.

I thought King was a pretty willing hitter earlier in his career he just wasn't that good at it and kept hurting himself.
I don't want him back but I thought he was OK once they moved him to that hybrid nickel lb/s role late in the year.

On that note I'll continue to pound the table for a legitimate returner.

Was hoping Amari would be that guy but instead he was one of the worst returners I ever remember. It's one thing to be sketchy with ball protection but when you combine that with zero game breaking ability it's a real turd sandwich.

Holding shouldn't be this complicated, right?
Think about how quick you need to get the snap, spin it and hold it at the right angle all within 2 seconds. Long snappers and holders dont get credit but it can be hard to find someone great at that and also above average at another position
Botching a hold can cost you your season, just ask Tony Romo.

That was certainly the rap on Gary pre draft. Didn't work very hard, took a lot of plays off. Haven't seen that in him here though. It helps that he's up for an extension in the next year. Hopefully he stays motivated after that.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think Gary has been a very motivated player the second he’s been here, contract or not. I wanted them to take Burns in that draft

It was nonsense in college.

Question why would the majority of this board feel that amari would be a KO specialist he never did it in college so why would you all think he could do it in the pros.Only the packers would put a dude back to catch n return punts thats never done it before then have this board say hes a bust

Agreed that injuries robbed Kevin King of any chance of ever being a legitimate NFL CB.
Unfortunately, the injuries that robbed King of any real hope of success started long before he SOMETIMES played CB for the Packers.
King was a known injury risk before Ted Thompson bypassed TJ Watt to select him with the Pack's first pick in the 2017 draft.
King then proceeded to miss 35% of the Pack's games over 5 years. Oh, and he was hampered by injury in many of the other games.
King lacked elite athleticism to play CB and, when healthy, was mostly known for his soft coverage.
That Ted drafted King was monumental mistake. That Gutey doubled down and paid him to return in 2021 was idiotic.
That Rasul Douglas and Eric Stokes showed Packer fans what quality CB play opposite Jaire should have looked like the previous 4 years was a revelation (and a credit to Gutey for getting them on the roster).
Get King's candy-assed, no good, backside of Scotty Miller watchin', ain't no TJ Watt and never will be ass out of GB and don't ever look back.
King represents the Pack's soft, bad defense of the 2011-2021 era. Bye Felicia.
