Re: Could Jokic Leave In 2023?
I expect him to stay in Denver but the fit of Jokic on that Toronto roster would be perfect

I don't think your principle extends to guys from English-speaking countries anyway.

We could use him.
Think he stays though. Denver sells him on the current, healthy core being good enough to win a title and this could be enough for him to sign the max extension this summer. Plus Europeans don't strike you as desperate to win a title. Maybe that proves to be wrong with Luka if his supporting cast does not significantly improve but I would expect Jokic to extend.

I think the Denver FO has done a fine job putting together a "big four" of Jokic, Murray, MPJ and Gordon... and they've also got nice depth with Monte Morris, Will Barton, Bones Hyland, Brym Forbes, Jamychal Green, Uncle Jeff, etc. Injuries have derailed their train temporarily, hopefully not permanently because I like seeing competent FOs in smaller markets rewarded. Anyway, you can't say their FO isn't up to the challenge when they've put together a roster like that.

Denver has overachieved every year, no way he leaves. Obviously it's mainly because of him, but their front office hits on almost all their picks, trades, and signings. There's no reason for him to leave, Denver will be in the finals soon enough.

What people who believe he'd go to some bigger market and care about that don't know is that he doesn't give a **** about Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, either. Belgrade is basically the entertainment center of the Balkans, meaning that no surrounding country matches its night life, yet no one has ever seen him going out here in Belgrade when he's in Serbia. Simply never, while other athletes are always in the clubs at the rivers or all over the city, restaurants and similar locations. Hence, no Miami club or New York fancy restaurant can attract him to sign elsewhere.
He's staying as long as the Nuggets want him, that's about it.
Very true.
But he wants to win too and Denver FO is not up to the challenge.
The team when last healthy went 9-1, so did the front office injure Murray and MPJ? What about Cancar and NNaji?

I don't think he's leaving Denver, but Toronto could theoretically created room for him by not re-signing Vanvleet & Trent.
This is pure fantasy so don't take this too seriously, but what's a better "big four" core Jokic + Murray, MPJ and Gordon or Jokic + Siakam, Barnes, Anunoby? Probably the latter.
Jokic
Siakam
Barnes
Anunoby
Precious
Boucher
Young
Banton
Brooks
Champagnie
2022 pick 32nd overall
2023 first round pick

Jokic spends his offseason riding around horses in Serbia and refers to himself as a horsemen, I don’t think this a dude who cares about the spotlight or big city lights.

Things will get interesting in Denver if Porter Jr doesn't live up to his contract. I don't expect him to do so from a mental aspect or by producing numbers that mean something. He simply didn't want any part of being the #2 in last years playoffs.
Jokic is probably very loyal until he realizes the team has reached it's ceiling and he still doesn't have adaquent help to win a championship.

I dont wanna be THAT guy, but if the Lakers dont sign anyone next FA, and simply let Lebron and WB expire, they will have AD and 70m free..Jokic and three 3D guys (or another max) would be fine by me.

Seems like a lot of foreign born personalities stay with their teams. Just depends on personalities.
I don’t see Jokic leaving for the same reason Giannis didn’t leave.

The latter is definitely the better foursome... but if he does leave Denver, I don't think Jokic will pull a Lebron and leave without netting his team something in return.

What? Where do you get that MPJ didn't want to be a number 2 guy? He put up 19 and 7 on 66.7% TS% against the Blazers. Crowder and Bridges were both very physical with MPJ and he struggled with it. He also struggled as they doubled him every time he touched the ball. He spent all of last offseason working on getting used to more physical play and learning how to handle doubles, including 3 weeks with Steph Curry. I cannot think of many guys in their 2nd season that are used to being doubled and physical defense in the playoffs but for some reason people love to hold MPJ to laughably high standards.

Re: Could Jokic Leave In 2023?
It would be a real possibility for most stars in his situation, but I highly doubt he leaves. His personality has a lot of Tim Duncan and Dirk in him. He obviously wants to win, but I don't think his mindset and goals are the same as most modern era stars.

Re: Could Jokic Leave In 2023?
Next year is probably make or break though but not for him for Murray/Porter and the rest of the roster. I think Denver realizes what they have with Jokic and will swing for the fences to get him the help he would need to seriously contend and win a title and not waste his prime. In my mind that would make everybody expendable. I like Murray but to expect him to come back better than what he was pre-ACL injury is putting a lot on him. And I get the ceiling people see and saw with MPJ but the bottom line is I wouldn't have drafted him at all cause of the back injury. Maybe the Nuggets, their doctors and MPJ's doctors know something we don't but this seems like something that is going to be a recurring issue for his whole career.

Re: Could Jokic Leave In 2023?
After the playoffs last year Malone tells the story that Jokic waited for the locker room to clear out after the loss to the Suns and then asked Malone to go upstairs to have a beer, they were joined by Tim Connelly and Josh Kroenke. Reportedly the only thing about basketball that Jokic wanted to talk about was how he could get better.
For Jokic's birthday a bunch of fans got together and sponsored a horse on a special needs farm where kids with autism and other special needs go to spend time with horses. Of course they had to explain to JOkic what it was about, but he had tears in his eyes as he talked about how great Denver fans are too him.
Jokic openly distains the NBA media after the whole fiasco in Chicago a few years ago where he made a joke, everybody laughed, then some reporter put it into the papers as if he was slamming gay people and he was fined. He doesn't like the media, he doesn't like the extra attention, and he is always talking about how much he likes Denver (reminds him of Serbia) and Denver fans.
His agent is already saying they are signing a super max this summer, and he knows that the front office will do everything they can to add talent. He has no reason to leave at this point.
