Lol Joel is a better scorer and the better defender. It’s not just me who thinks Embiid is better. Did you not hear what Durant said about the MVP? Basically most of the national media has Embiid being the better player and mvp front runner this season.
This year Joel is the better scorer and better shooter, he is also much better at getting teams in foul trouble and getting to the line (while converting 82% of his FT’s) which is extremely valuable. He has a better 3pt% and a better ft%. Yes Jokic has improved on defense but Joel is still the much better defensive force. Shall I go on?
JOel is not the better defender nor scorer, we just had a thread about this last week and I am still waiting for your response on why if Joel is the better defender Jokic is better in every advanced stat, is better in steals, deflections, shots defended, shooting percentage allowed, and everything else other than blocks.
As someone else posted Jokic has a significantly higher TS% showing that despite Joel shooting more JOkic is still clearly the better scorer.
The only argument Embiid has is that his team is 2 1/2 games better than the team missing their 2nd and 3rd best players as well as their primary backup SG, SF, and PF that they started the season with and lost due to injuries.
Lol I find it so ridiculous that you think Jokic is a better defender, he can’t hold Embiids Jock strap when it comes to defense. And it seems your a little salty considering Embiid is likely going to win MVP.
Embiid has better block #’ and his DBPM is much better. Even with Joel coasting on defense he is likely going to make another all defensive team, how many all defensive teams does Jokic have again? None lol. Also Joel is 1st in the league in scoring, just because Jokic takes shots closer to the basket doesn’t make him a better shooter. Joel takes a majority of his shots from mid range while Jokic shoots most his shots from 3-10 feet. Jokic is not in the same league as Embiid when it comes to scoring.
Jokic is having an amazing season but
Joel is just a better player on both sides of the ball,
Joel is the MVP meaning he’s the best player in the league. But keep dreaming if you think Jokic will win mvp lol and keep dreaming that Jokic is better on defense and scoring. He’s just not.
What is happening here, just so much wildness.
Blocks and DBPM are the measures for players defense? Are we certain we understand what is represented by DBPM here, because citing it with such authority and determinative power isn't even something those who derived the stat would do.
Joel is a better player on both sides of the ball? Why is Joel better on offense, because he scores more points? Seems like a willful ignorance here of the impact of superior efficiency and elite level playmaking from the C position to simply say Joel is better on both ends.
Also since when did MVP mean best player in the league? Yes, they can coincide, but there's no way anyone actually seriously believes that MVP is the best player in the league award.

Not even in the same ball park scoring wise?
Take away his free throws and Embiid isn't even in the conversation for good scorers, a big man that cannot even shoot 50% is a travesty for a supposed superstar.
I think it is ridiculous that you think Embiid is the better defender despite all evidence to the contrary, and you are even lying about DBPM where Jokic is clearly ahead.
The only reason Embiid is even in the conversation about the MVP is hype, we both know it. He shouldn't even be ahead of Giannis and everybody outside of you knows it.
Once again making up facts and ignoring reality does not change the real facts, Embiid should be in arguments with Kat fans about who is better.
Sheesh, we got wild things one way and then wild things the other way. The only reason a 30/11/4 player on a top team in his conference is in the MVP race is because of hype? Really? Come on, you guys can't be real with these wild statements.
Take away his FT's? How does that work, why is that something to do when FT's are part of basketball and count as points? Also we cited TS% earlier, and now we are judging on FG% alone for a player that takes about 4 three's a game? Embiid has a 52.2% eFG and shoots 51.8% 2PT, a player like that is 100% in the conversation for "good scorers".
