Other thing to remember is teams look like they are trying to avoid the Nets. Boston wins today and Philly goes down its basically a 4 way tie for the 1 & 2 seed. With the mandate lifted the 2 & 3 seeds look like the ones you want to avoid.

That's why I considered Milwaukee game a win when I calculated Mavs remaining record, it's safer to shoot for 4th seed in the east than 1st, Bizarre...

Boston might fancy chances for 1st seed, which still brings a lot. Raptors need to win for 6th place and Nuggets need every win also. So pretty difficult schedule anyway. It depends what Mavs do today, if Mavs win, I will for sure root for Minnesota against Denver. If not ...

With the mandate over teams are likely trying for the 1 & 4 over the 2 & 3 at the moment

The biggest mystery is, how have Mavs beaten Celtics? Their only loss in March.

Wolves and Dubs lost, winner of Jazz/Mavs have a strong case for 3rd seed.

Easy, when the Mavs play their regular defense and hit 40% from 3, they can hang with anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Utah drop to 6 or 7. They haven't been playing good lately.

Remaining schedules for the Mavs and Warriors. Taken from the GB:

Mavs:
Lakers
@Cavs
@Wizards
@Bucks
@Pistons
Blazers
Spurs

Warriors:
@Grizzlies
Suns
Jazz
@Kings
Lakers
@Spurs
@Pels

I think we have a real shot at 3 with Curry out but there's so many factors. I'm particularly interested in that Wizards game.

I feel the same way. If we had beat Minny on Friday, I think we virtually be a lock to finish 3rd, but it's still very doable.

GSW is in a freefall without Steph.

DAL remaining schedule is much more favorable than anyone else in the conversation.

Minny is too far back.

DEN has the Joker, but the rest of the active roster is trash (LOL @ Barton missing the dime of the year)

UTAH has LAL, @ GSW, MEM & PHX and their next game is @ LAC which they could lose.

The Mavs might only lose 1 or 2 more games the rest of the way.

*Only real fear is flipping 3/6 with GSW and then we face them with a healthy Steph for round 1. I wouldn't really wanna see Minny either. Would prefer DEN or UTAH (with Mavs having homecourt) for round 1.

3/28

Nuggets (-3.5) @ Hornets
Warriors (+10.5) @ Grizzlies

If the Mavs were to be able to climb to 3 I think I'd rather see Denver over Minnesota as the above post states. Just think the athleticism will give the Mavs fits.

I agree. Minny's athleticism scares me and they are just oozing with We Believe 2007 Warriors vibes.

Being 3rd is much more crucial than who we get in round 1.

3-1 vs Golden State. I assume this gives us the tiebreaker because Phoenix will win their division.
