Stephenson was gooning it up all game and getting away with foul after foul.

Between this “ejection” and the non shooting foul call on monte morris the other night, I’m starting to just laugh at the absurdity of it all.

The only thing wrong with Brothers there is that he has the reaction time of a refrigerated jar of honey.

What? He had the ball. Faked a swing through or a pass. No connection. Absolutely nothing wrong with what Rivers did.

There’s no way he’d swing through that space with Stephenson there like that, Rivers pumped the elbow and knew what he was doing.

As someone who has coached and played for a very long time. You are taught to swing through. Rivers is one of the best in his triple threat position using fakes and swing throughs.

It's hard to watch this crap sometimes. You'd think replay/reviewing would help alleviate these mistakes but quite the opposite. Imagine the injustice you'd feel as a player on the receiving end of that. Honestly I'm kind of surprised the NBA has never had more of the outbursts at refs that happen in soccer, like Michael Ballack chasing and screaming at Tom Henning Ovrebo. I really only remember the 'Shaq we're on live' moment which was funny but really tame.

All you can do is really laugh, sad as it is. Shame none of the other refs or NBA officials have the balls or eyesight to eject Tony Brothers instead.

After reviewing the play, Brothers should have ejected himself to go see an Optometrist

Honestly I thought this was a smart play by Rivers. Tony Brothers is extremely likely to unfairly eject someone on the Nuggets. Rivers stepping up and taking the standard TB ejection before Jokic can saved the team tonight.

Dude you have the replay so use it. Go to the replay and say "my bad no tech". But to call the tech, then go to the replay and rewatch it and still go through with it is flat out embarrassing.

This is truly getting close to the Duncan ejection for laughing. One of the other refs or Brothers himself needed to take a step back and call it correct. That was truly embarrassing.

Pretty disgusting thread of you ask me. Ragging on Tony Brothers just because he is legally blind is not cool.

This is insane. He reviewed the replay so quickly, none of the other refs even got to see it. I can’t remember seeing anything like that before.

I will never understand why the league goes to such lengths to protect the refs. There’s no reason Brothers shouldn’t have to answer questions about this just like the players and coaches do.

It brings up an interesting point. What if you have a defender pull back for a punch, but never follow through? He cocks as arm back like he is going to slug a player so he flinches, then blow by him. It's genius.

I'm actually okay with it. The two players had already been T'd up, and told to stop the antics. Rivers clearly pretended he was going to throw an elbow at Lance. It's a soft call, but probably falls within the taunting rules. Should a player be allowed to pretend to throw a punch at an opponent? As long as he doesn't make contact it's all good?

Getting closer and closer to the movie BASEketball
Once they have that golden shining moment and it comes to them in a dream or whatever and they understand that, that's when this team and this franchise will go to another level from where it was when I was here.

Karma for getting Montrezl ejected two days ago for doing absolutely nothing. And no one made a thread about that

The same ref that has ejected Jokic like 5 times in his career. No bias at all

Ref brotherhood. They know he screwed up, and they know he's a bad ref. They decided to let him review his mistake, and live with his decision.

Dude, Rivers always uses fakes like that when he has the ball.

Your idea that he was trying to intimidate Lance or something is purely your own conjecture.

We have to go off the physical evidence. It was a meek pump fake. He barely even moved. He didn’t extend his arm.

You can’t start imparting your own opinions about WHY he made such a weak little pump fake.

Nothing in the rules says a guy should be ejected for a fake. And on replay it literally is a fake that makes no contact with anything.

Let’s also ignore the fact that Tony brothers did nothing initially, then decides to blow the whistle 5-10 seconds later for no apparent reason.

Reffing is a very difficult job (true)
However, Brothers doesn't seem to ref to the standard of his peers or general reasonability
