I can't believe there are people here defending the call.

Explain? Stevenson hit Austin with a cheap shot and then pushed him, and Austin is an egomaniac for retaliating?

Lol hi Tony brothersSofia wrote:I actually donβt have a problem with that. I assume there was a double tech from the initial exchange in the corner, and then Rivers comes straight back down and fakes an elbow at Stephenson for guarding him close? Yeah you canβt do that.
The only thing wrong with Brothers there is that he has the reaction time of a refrigerated jar of honey.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
That didn't even look like a fake elbow it looked like a fake pass.
Regardless Brothers has been a terrible referee for as far back as I can remember.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
I defend NBA referees. They do a great job with a very hard sport.
But that was terrible officiating on the level of Duncan ejection for laughing or the ref refusing to foul out Booker.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
faking an elbow/punch/strike should be a technical.... however that looked Rivers started to fake a pass and looks like a basketball move to me.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
Tony Brothers might be the worst ref in the NBA and this is just further proof of it.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
I had to watch the section where he threw a phantom elbow, which really wasn't anything but to clear some space to operate, at least three times to catch it. This is a sham and Brothers needs to be reviewed for this call and subsequent toss.

very surprised at the outrage given how many people loath watching Austin Rivers play on an NBA court, Tony Brothers should be honored as a hero by the Austin Rivers haters, lol

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
Bad call without a doubt. The problem is how it was reviewed as it is being reported that the other refs (other that Brothers) were not involved in the review and the replay was clear. Call should have been overturned on review.
Canned in Denver.

Probably the second worst ejection of the year, after Lowry getting ejected for passing the ball to a ref.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
I am so tired of officiating these days. Its why I watch far fewer nba games than I used to.

Re: Austin Rivers ejection
As a Pacer fan I'm just glad Lance wasn't permanently injured, could have cost him his career. Just kiddin".
Obviously a horrible call, but Riveres wasn't ejected JUST because of that, it was his 2nd tech. He was a little bitch on the 1st tech. Lance got under his skin, like he does to people on a regular basis.
Brothers has always been one of the worst refs, period.

Quite possibly the worst ejection I've seen since Duncan on the bench.

I tend to agree with this. No one would have thought it was a fake elbow to the face if the previous incident had not occurred.
